If you only have one phone, just don't answer it while working.
This has nothing to do with the younger generation being addled, but with ageing patients becoming forgetful.
There is a simple solutution to this and it is all on your end. Remember to put the phone near you when working. Answer it and just say "I am sorry, but I am working now and cannot talk," then hang up.
