All MTs have to put their initials on every report they type. The medical document is considered a legal document, and putting a name or initials that are not yours, is forgery, which is a felony. In the case I am referring to, the HIPPAA laws are ineffective because it is happening after the reports leave the USA. Once the report leaves the USA border, it is no longer protected by HIPPAA laws, but once it comes back into the USA, with forged signatures, it is a felony and a crime.
