I got out but had to go back to school - anon Posted: Aug 31st, 2015 - 10:35 pm In Reply to: To those over 50 who have gotten out - 1oldMT
I'm the one above who said I got out at 58. I went back to school at 57 while still working full time. It was hard but I made it, plus the school gave extended 0% interest monthly payments. I finished at 58 and passed my certification tests and was hired (coding). I know many are fearful this profession will end up the same, but I just had to get away from MT and it has been wonderful for me. I am appreciated and praised again (gasp!) and just got a promotion and another pay raise (bigger gasp!). I know I got lucky but I know that many are finding jobs now with ICD-10 coming even with no experience (there are FB coding groups with job leads, etc). My best wishes to all of you and I hope each of you can find something that you will prosper in and get away from this horrible company!!
