This is a perfect example of illegal misclassification - if you were legally employees before, performing the exact same job, they cannot downgrade you to something inferior. It just does not pass the test. They are only doing it to save money, on your back. I strongly suggest you contact your nearest Dept. of Labor office. If you have a state office, so much the better, call them both.
