Skin lesions - Vance

Posted: Feb 09, 2014

Patient scraped her knuckles on a cheese grater.  Doctor dictates, "They have melayer ? and scab, but they do not really appear infected."

Even if we tell you what this probably is, it won't help you learn much.

You should google wound healing, or, better yet, look it up in the A&P book that your course certainly provided to you, and see what kind of things are associated with superficial wounds.

What would happen if you scraped your knuckles on a cheese grater? What would you see? Scab? How about redness? What is that redness called? Starts with an e.

The point is to recognize what you hear from the context and because it makes sense in that context. When you understand the medicine behind what you hear, you will understand what you hear.

Google is your friend. So are pathophysiology books.

Or maybe ask your instructor - xx

as the questions you are asking really look like student questions.
