Is "chemo" an accepted brief ? - Stacey

Posted: Aug 06, 2010

Just wondering if "chemo" is dictated not in any headings or diagnoses, if it can be used? Can't seem to find it in the BOS and just wondering if that is an accepted slang term?

Thanks

Every client is different. Where I work it is slang and - therefore we use chemotherapy. NM

I work on a huge hem/onc account and I always expand it - Hope that helps

As the poster above said, it's considered slang, so I always expand it to "chemotherapy."

Me too. - Happy MT Robin

I've never left it at just chemo - it always gets expanded.

Thanks for the help! - Stacey

The hospital I work for says type it if dictated, which means that it should be expanded. :)
