multiple physicians, same name? - bcgal00

Posted: Apr 03, 2015

I'm training with Nuance. CC goes to a doc, there is a choice of 2 to choose from, same city, both GP's. I can't find anything in the pdf manual about how to pend this. I asked and was told by TM to find it in the manual. I can't. Anyone know? Thx for any help.

It could vary depending on client preference as well as platform - sm

If you're on the Inscribe platform, I can probably help you

I'm using Editscript MT 11. I've checked the acct specific manual and the editscript manual. Neither of them addresses unknown or multiple names that I can see. I asked in comments but they haven't answered my question. Hoping someone here has a suggestion on what to do. Right now I am pending as a blank after being told not to pend this but I don't know what else to do.

CC issues 2 docs same name - rock bottom

Well, you cannot pend just for CC.

What you do, according to the CC instructions in the Version 11 user guides, if you are not sure, you create a contact in the cc menu and put in the last name and ________ for first name.

If that does not work then put _____ for both first and last name.

Then send through.

You do not guess, that is a 3.0 CPSE for sending a report to the wrong doctor. Since you cannot know which one, you cannot choose.

create a new CC with dictated info then the client is forced to figure it out

will try new cc - bcgal00

I will do that next time. Thx. Hadn't thought of creating new cc, I was just putting asking for help in the comment box in pending. I wish they would just let me know what they wish me to do. It's frustrating to have to try to guess KWIM? Appreciate the suggestion.

Do The Physicians Know What We Do?
Mar 23, 2012

During all the eating, nose blowing, just sitting there and reading the chart, talking to the patient and office personnel, and accepting phone calls during their dictation, do they realize there is a person on that dictation line?  Do they even know what we do? I have a couple doctors who do this constantly!  It is not so bad if I am typing, but on VR all of this chatting and phone calling comes in on their dictation and has to be deleted constantly!!  Frustr ...

Physicians Doing EMR
Mar 23, 2014

I have noticed my regular doctor's office using EMR and it is used by the nurses more or less with the point/click stuff, not too much "major typing" but still aggravating that I have to sit there while they input their data.  BUT, I took my child to a specialist last week and the physician himself was using EMR and it wasn't such a user friendly point and click thing going on, he had to type SENTENCES at the time.  These sentences he was typing were achieved by him using his ...

Physicians Choice, New MTs Pay Them?
Jan 11, 2010

I found a company called Physicians Choice Transcription Service (PCTSI) which says they take newbies but you pay them money weekly as a payroll deduction.  You start out paying them $100/week.  Does anyone know anything about this kind of service?  I've been looking for work for weeks and have seen several places want "start up costs" in the thousands, but never a place that takes $100 a week from your pay when you work for them. http://www.pcts1.com/Employment.htm Has it ...

Physicians And Billing
Feb 02, 2013

I see a lot of my clients as a patient. I have health insurance, which states that they accept a certain payment from that insurance as full payment. However, certain clients do balance billing, which is illegal. Balance billing is basically billing you personally for the amount over what they accepted as payment from that insurance company as an in-network physician. If this were not my client, I would refuse to pay; however, since they are my clients, I have no choice. How would they feel if ...

Interesting Statistics Regarding ESL Physicians
May 08, 2011

If you think you are getting more and more ESL dictators, you are probably right.  According to a public website, there were 2130 Visa petitions/applications and 748 Green Card petitions/applications for PHYSICIANS for the year 2010 alone.  That does not include all the ESL physicians that came into the United States over the previous years.  Yes, some applications were denied, but why do these hospitals feel they need that many foreign physicians to begin with.  If you are ...

Soliciting Physicians For Work, Help Needed!
Jan 14, 2010

I need some help.  I have many, many years in the industry with transcription, VR editing, QA and auditing and I have decided to cut out the middle man (the transcription companies) and solicit physicians on my own for work.  My problem is not knowing the going rates to charge.  I know they are low, but how low.  The transcription companies are paying us very low rates, but how can I find out what the dr's are actually paying, so I dont cause the market to drop ...

Why Bad EMRs Are Forced On Physicians By Edwin Leap, MD
Aug 11, 2014

from KevinMD website "I recently did a tally.  Since starting my locums adventure last year, and going to full-time locums in January, I’ve worked in a grand total of 11 emergency departments.  Let me qualify that for the occasional visitor to my blog.  I decided to do this for purposes of flexibility, finances and a much needed change of scenery.  Not because I’m a problem physician, or unable to do the work in a “real” job.  I say that to ...

Multiple Emails
Jan 15, 2015

We seem to be getting more and more emails charting our progress, charting our errors, charting how much time we are idle.  You name it, these people are chart crazy.  I think they like the multiple colors.   I am worn out from it all.    If they spent half the time actually building us up with positives instead of negatives all the time, maybe, just maybe it would help our production.  ...

Question About Multiple Accounts

Working On Multiple Accounts
Apr 30, 2010

I work for an MTSO and have been given 4 accounts. After my first one ran out of work they gave me another, and then when that one ran out they gave me another and so on and so forth. My primary and secondary accounts I like, they are basically sister hospitals and are pretty similar. My fourth account is very large and always has work and is a totally different type of hospital, but I like the work and the packet the QA people sent me is very informative and easy to find what you need. Is The CCS Exam Multiple Choice?
Apr 23, 2012

I was just wondering from anyone who has taken the CCS exam recently, is the whole exam multiple choice?  I ask because I am taking the Andrews course and using the AHIMA-published workbooks and they are all multiple choice.  I use a different skill set when doing these questions, work my way backward with deductive reasoning, reading the question and looking up each answer, eliminating the wrong ones.  This seems faster to me and I want to work as fast as I can on the test.  ...

So Is QA Handling Multiple Accounts Also?
Nov 24, 2013

They darn sure are all over the map as well. This BOSS speaks to the problem we are all complaining about, multiple accounts cause multiple problems. If you actually sat down and DID your job, you could better track and send out work. There are ways, it takes time, and it takes extreme patience, and most of all it takes the loss of you TAT bonus for maybe a couple of months until you get it right. If you truly care, quality would come first. And QA, please stop the BS corrections, I ...
