Most of us are trying to find a way out of this deceitful company. The only way to turn it around would be to start paying us a living wage and give us back what you stole. Your fake praise and insincerity are disgusting. Empty words mean nothing!

Anyone else get an offer of a "coffee break" - for MT week?

If anyone has participated I would like to know what it's about. I am imagining more rah rah and "we appreciate you" but of course never EVER putting their money where their mouth is, not even to send a lousy key chain for free advertising. I myself am too busy with my other part time jobs to partake in a silly unpaid meeting as such.

Who comes up with these ideas anyway? Someone making at least 3 times our salary I'm guessing.

I also work for a smaller MTSO who sent a lovely little package for MT week with a few assorted goodies and, more importantly, care and appreciation. That's all you need and that's a great feeling. Stupid stupid Nuance.

I was curious and had some time to kill since I work nights and it was a waste of time. I hung up when someone started talking about a cruise they were taking.....I thought to myself, "What account(s) do you work on that afford you to take a cruise to the Caribbean? Certainly not the accounts I work on..." I am going back to school to get away from this job. The day I quit Nuance will become a personal paid holiday for me.

I'm not going to read any more of these emails with the rah rah rah "inspirational" quotes. All they do is irritate me. Treating us like they do day in and day out, cutting our pay, demanding more and more that is unpaid, etc., and then they think these emails with the quotes and rah rahs will do what exactly? Give us warm fuzzies? Cause us to feel valued and appreciated? I'll just be hitting delete and absolutely will not waste my (unpaid) time on that drivel.

I didn't always do the contests, but at least it was nice to know that we had a *chance* at winning something.

My first year at Webmedx (many years ago), EVERY MT got a $25 gift card for MT week. My, how things have changed!

I for one am sick and tired of this profession and what it has become with MTSOs "dictating" that an MT has to do "X number of lines per hour, either with transcribing or with VR. I just spoke with a young woman named Bailey at the AAPC. AAPC only does outpatient coding certification, not inpatient. Inpatient is obtained through AHIMA. CPC requires 2 years of experience. CPC exam can be taken without the 2 years of experience but will have an apprentice designation on your credential, CPC-A. The apprentice would be dropped after 2 years of experience. Okay, so I signed on with Transcend because they said, "Do you want to be guaranteed $900 per pay period as full time?" Well, sure. That sure reeled me in. Ok, finally, the horrors have happened to me. All was well, but now I'm getting seriously pissed. I work 8 hour shifts 5 days a week. Those hours are mandatory. I've had the same line rate (9 cpl) for 5 years, and I notice the new accounts they offer MTs pay 7.5 or 8 cpl at most. I assume that the MT companies set up a contract with the client for them to pay on a per-line basis. Of course, they charge more than they pay us; that's how they make their money & that's fine. But what I'm wondering is... when we get a report that comes in as VR instead of straight typing, where does the extra money go, since we get paid less for VR.
