My dear fellow MT professionals:

As you know, Nuance is growing at a very fast pace. We intend to become #1 in this space. My dream was to build a #1 company in MT industry, and I believe I have achieved that. However, I realize the skillsets needed for this fast pace growth is much higher than the background that I come from. Hence, making way for the right person is the right decision that we (company and I) came up with. I am hereby bidding goodbye to all of you from this role. Today is my last date at office. All the best to each one of you.

he did not quit...and he should because he is illiterate and running a company dealing with words...he was fired. They let him save face by announcing his leaving...but the company and I came up with this is BS...he was fired. I think it is a really good start...now if they fire all the supervisors, TSM and the US CEO...maybe they can rebuild something approaching a good place to work. Or not. I remain doubtful

And I hardly think grammar is important in his job. If you used those standards how many of our executives in this country would be considered unfit?

All the India blaming and shaming is ridiculous. It's hardly Bangalore MTs fault that all these companies decided to come and exploit their workers too - thanks to our lovely country's laws that actually reward companies for doing this!

I'm with you on firing the US based CEO and upper management (not TSMs IMHO), but never going to happen. They like money for nothing and we provide it for them.

Executives in other companies that do not deal with words and grammar I can see not knowing correct grammar. However, an executive of a transcription company should know correct grammar.

How many emails from any CEOs - have been perfect?

I have worked for many companies, transcription and not. When you are a CEO or COO, making big bucks is the ticket, nobody cares if you can spell or know correct grammar.

All big businesses are the same now, the CEO is just a figurehead for power, influence and extreme wealth, so I do not believe grammar comes into it, unfortunately. I have often wished I could be paid more for being a great speller, but unfortunately it seems to be extremely undervalued in this world and in fact the better speller you are possibly works inversely in relation to income.

I would wonder if any US CEO of any transcription company (the big ones anyway) would have great grammar? In fact, what about our multimillion dollar Nuance guy, I doubt he could care less about grammar. Then again I guess that's what he pays underlings for.

The fact that most CEOs have bed grammar does not make it okay for - CEO of Nuance to have bad grammar. SM

And the attitude of, well, all CEOs have bad grammar so what can we expect, is what makes these coorporations, and the public, think it is okay. It is not okay.

oh...now THAT is funny...I personally do not care about their BED grammar...although I am sure they lie like heck in bed too....it is the printed word they send out that offends me

well OH MY GOD aren't YOU helpful. he clearly is NOT a transcriptionist, nor does he play one on TV....but grammar STILL matters for a company who has "communication" in their name and who represents themselves as 99.9% accurate in words. Actually grammar and spelling matter always every where for any business...except in India perhaps...but in the US it still counts. The difference, in case you don't know,between a transcriptionist and a COO is that the COO makes more money...lots more money...still can't write a cohesive sentence...oh and the MT works for her money whereas the COO...well you get my drift

Really you can tell almost immediately that this is not a native American-English speaker. The text is stiff and too formal..the accent kind of jumps off the page. Wonder why he quit.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work? Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore. ....First send us an email with fabulous Nuance ins (bad news) because they had to announce that due to open season. If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. WTF? I've been with Nuance for 3 years and think it's time to jump ship. This company is messed up, and the QA is so inconsistent. ...

In house just got outsourced to Nuance. In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well. So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year? Not even a week for vacation left over. I AM SO LIVID! These QCs are unbelievable! I used "and" instead of "the" and the QC marks me off for English misspelling/typo which is a 0.5 error instead of an English word misuse which is less at 0.25. There is someone who claims to be a QC for Nuance and that they are only paid minimum wage for this position. That is utter nonsense. Why would any experienced MLS take a minimum wage job in the MT industry when you could make more than that on production easily.
