bereavement policy for part timers? - sm

I looked on the MModal website and it doesn't tell about part timers, only full timers. I know we don't get paid but was wondering if we get any days off or we have to use excused absences. Anyone know?

When my dad died a year and a half ago I sent several emails to my TSM and called and left phone messages. She never replied to any of them. I finally sent an email saying I'd be off until such a date. The only thing I heard in those six weeks was the day before I had told her i would be back an email asking me when I was coming back. I'm sure they aren't all like that though. Sorry for your loss!

When my dad died 1 1/2 yr ago, I was told no bereavement - policy for PT. nm

My TSM has been nothing but understanding about me having to leave when I have to leave...Different situation but still a lot of oops gotta run going on lately.. Im sure, as long as the leave isnt excessive (workplace standard is 5 days for family member) they wont say anything..

I was working fulltime when my mother passed away and TSM would not let me have more than 3 days (and I had not even touched excused absences allowed). :(

I am starting to wonder if Transcend has more part time workers than full time, excluding the TLs. It just seems like it is such a fight to get enough work to be full time. It also seems like it saves them in the long run to not provide insurance and now gift cards at Christmas if they have more part timers, just my feeling. ...
