Been sitting here a lot of the morning with NJA. Then I finally get a 500+ second job and by George if it isn't a female resident who sounds like one of the Lollipop Guild from the Wizard of Oz. I can't win anymore. Let's see -- alcohol or drugs. . . . . .

You are expected to follow protocol by turning in a ticket for no work... if you do that, and they do not find you work, that is their problem. If you fight it, you will win because you followed protocol by placing a ticket and getting ticket number, and they did not provide you work.

I know this is just going to sound awful but - I truly mean it in a helpful manner. (sm)

Do you not believe it is your responsibility to care for your family?

I promise you that if you truly believe you are responsible for your family, you will act like it. You will do whatever it takes: Get another job, cut out unnecessary expenses, get a 2nd or a 3rd job if need be.

Otherwise, you obviously believe it is a company's responsibility or the government or, God forbid, MY responsibility as a taxpayer to pay for you.

I can tell you flat out it is NOT anyone's responsibility but YOURS to take care of yourself and your family.

If you don't do something, you WILL lose everything and quite frankly it will not elicit any sympathy from me when there are so many options out there.

For crying out loud, do something for yourself.

I tried jumping the Q-ship a few years ago, actually tried 3 other companies (one at a time), ended up making less at them (at the time, not now) and had to come back to MQ only because the stress of change was just too much for me to handle - Three jobs. I ended up having to go on COBRA for 9 months (MQ didn't start paying for my insurance for much longer than they promised for their own reasons). I also lost so much income, I ended up living off my credit cards which isn't easy. I'm still maxed out on my credit cards and just scraping by to keep my house. That poster would probably say "so just give up your house, then." We all have our personal stories and we come here to vent, state our opinions, none of which are wrong. What that poster suggested might be great for her, we may or may not have tried it, but Vicky is right. Just try rolling with the punches the Q is throwing. I feel I'm stuck with this job for REASONS OF MY OWN. You don't know them all.

Who made you God? You have no idea what this lady or any of us are going through. We work our butts off at 2 jobs or more usually in this industry and still it doesn't help even with paring expenses to the bone. Who can make ends meet on less than minimum wage no matter how many lines you do. Karma is an itch with a b. In my state, because my MT jobs have been IC and not all of them take taxes out, the Unemployment office told me that as far as they were concerned I wasn't working at all. They claimed they did a "wage investigation" to confirm I've been working IC MT jobs, but I don't think they did, and they refused to accept my offer of sending them copies of my pay stubs.

In Oregon you cannot get unemployment unless you are laid off, you can't get it if you are fired or if you quit. There is work in my accounts no I rarely have a NJA problem.

all the emails from corporate, your CCM and QA about lack of work, drop in pay, etc. MQ did not contest my claim at all, went right through, though the people at the unemp office were somewhat speechless to hear what this company was doing to its employees, but the links posted at the top of the MQ forum convinced them it was true. I just had a "stream of consciousness" dictator who was TERRIBLE.

"He got, while he was here, a cardiac cath that showed atherosclerotic disease but it didn't look too severe"

"He will go home on the same medications that he came in on."

"He actually, while he was in the hospital, he had, during that time, a 2 pound weight loss but he was eating a lot so it wasn't making sense, even with the extra supplements too."

I kid you not...This doc said all of these things and then some! I would HATE to be his patient!

I thought this ASR crap was supposed to get better as it "learns" the doctors and their frequently-used phrases... didn't someone say that back in training? I'm talking about DSG in particular, but I know a lot of people use DQS ASR, so please bear with me. So, how come it now can't seem to get a single sentence without major corrections having to be done? I'm about ready to apply at McDonald's if this keeps up... my pay is about 1/3 of what it was when we did straight ...

I was terminated for reasons I won't go into here--after 9+ years at my last employer. Thing is--I was looking anyway and informed potential employers that the company just was "no longer a good fit." What finally tipped the balance was an e-mail we got a few months ago stating that after an MT had sent a certain percentage of reports to editing for comprehension issues, for instance, they would be penalized 0.03 cpl for doing so! Assuming this is legal, IMO, it's immoral ...

Has anyone noticed that fairly suddenly ASR recognition has gotten much worse. I know it was pretty bad before, but now I've noticed that even with the clear dictators where in the past the ASR recognition was okay, it's now HORRIBLE. Weren't we promised the ASR would get BETTER with time. Didn't they LOWER our pay when they said it got better before. I'm new to having to work work for a service. Recently the only work availabe has been the absolutely worst dictator I have ever done in my 25 years transcribing for hundreds of different doctors and specialties. With the platforms being used, can you tell if you are getting previous rejected jobs? There is no way to make more than $1. an hour with this guy. Does it seem that the ILPs are leaving blanks for anything and everything lately? I mean, most of the stuff is clear as day. Then it goes through 2 ILP QA and they can't get it either, although I have long since realized that the other levels of QA don't even look at the report but just send it on anyway. Any Transcenders out there noticing that all of a sudden the editing software is doing a more horrible job than normal?
