ASR suddenly MUCH worse!!! - Kiki1

Has anyone noticed that fairly suddenly ASR recognition has gotten much worse. I know it was pretty bad before, but now I've noticed that even with the clear dictators where in the past the ASR recognition was okay, it's now HORRIBLE. Weren't we promised the ASR would get BETTER with time. Didn't they LOWER our pay when they said it got better before. So, wouldn't it only be fair to move the pay back UP now that it is so horriible and NOT improving, only getting worse?

Instead we will probably all get decreases again. They make me so sick. What does one have to do to get laid off or even fired around here? For real, I could do better on unemployment, and in CA, I'd get that even if fired. I would do anything short of messing up a patient's record, but I have a feeling even THAT wouldn't work. They do NOT want to pay unemployment, no way, no how. That I am convinced of. No one has to worry about getting laid off/fired....I just think they are going to force our hand by pay cuts, horrible dictation, NJA regularly, and so on. STINKS!

How does ASR get headache with blurred vision - when dictated as

headache with chest pain! ASR is definitely predicting and not listening. I would get reprimanded (at the least) if I listened as well as ASR does.

Yet again, not only do you get a meager sum for making the $120/15 for minute (office call fee) dictator look good, we now have to make the multimillion dollar computer programers/program/suits look like a legal document!!!!! Unskilled??? I think not. But why are we one of the least compensated skilled worker when we know the jargon/procedures/thought processes of the aforementioned?

Here we are being micromanaged every micro-second for pennies to use our brains nonstop. Some people in other careers get zillions for doing mindless work. I spent the last 2 days working a bulldozer to fix some dirt the rains washed away. I rented one as I couldn't afford the guy who gets $80-120 an hour! It took me all of maybe 60 minutes learning how to work the bulldozer, actually a skiploader (front and back). Not rocket science. Easy-schmeazy work, pretty boring actually. And those idiots get paid zillions. Gee. I'm-a-gonna get me a certificate and make some big bucks.

Takes more than a certificate, dear. But you go ahead and do it. - Let us know how it works out for you.

I can't win for losing with these new QA folks. Never had a problem before and now I cannot type a report correctly. Whereas I've typed for the same doctors for 11 years, they don't know the accounts, but I'm wrong in everything. We get a letter from MQ extolling our virtues as MTs, more and more info about nationalizing the EMR with Verizon, etc. and I notice I'm not the only one getting less ASR, more direct typing. the work skyrockets overnight like nothing we have had in at least 2 months or more. I had to ask why all of a sudden did the workload go up so high? It was about the client wasn't happy and the account was at risk, and yet, it showed every day for the week the percent quality score was above minimum. Some "critical" errors, but I'll bet they were mostly not following the client profile. Earlier there was an email stating that the client (a different one) wasn't happy and we were at risk of losing that account. Had to do with selecting the encounters correctly. Gee.... I thought this ASR crap was supposed to get better as it "learns" the doctors and their frequently-used phrases... didn't someone say that back in training? I'm talking about DSG in particular, but I know a lot of people use DQS ASR, so please bear with me. So, how come it now can't seem to get a single sentence without major corrections having to be done? I'm about ready to apply at McDonald's if this keeps up... my pay is about 1/3 of what it was when we did straight ...

I was terminated for reasons I won't go into here--after 9+ years at my last employer. Thing is--I was looking anyway and informed potential employers that the company just was "no longer a good fit." What finally tipped the balance was an e-mail we got a few months ago stating that after an MT had sent a certain percentage of reports to editing for comprehension issues, for instance, they would be penalized 0.03 cpl for doing so! Assuming this is legal, IMO, it's immoral ...
