Who knew when I asked what I thought was an innocent questions would set the hounds off? Guess some others are having a "bad day" as well. Here's hoping tomorrow will be better.

The Moderator has stated that threads such - none

as these above mine are being taken off and banned if continued. Please, why don't we all stop competing with each other and start completing each other (took from Marie Osmond). However, I am not a Pollyanna. There are some who find this the only place they can be nasty to their fellow human beings without using their names. As someone stated above, it is sickening. The folks doing this need professional help.

I feel like I need to explain. This is the second time in a year that I have asked a question and been "attacked" and made to feel stupid. I am NOT a rocket scientist nor am I the lowest on the food chain either. I mistakenly held the assumption that people would or could help me out. It seems like there are a few "bad apples" out there that still take delight in their actions. Now that I have been twice burned by these individuals, I am out of here. I don't know why the hounds do what they do or what they get out of it, but hoping they can go a little easier on the next person who they perceive to ask a "stupid" question. I was always told no question was stupid.
Have a nice day.
Why do I feel the need to apologize when I did nothing wrong?
Agree 100%, we should be helping each other - not attacking

I have to wonder about some of the responses/postings on here. Some of the things that are said seem like a deliberate move to try and get people fired so that they can have the work. Maybe it is just me, but half the things they say they do would result in termination. Just my opinion. I kind of just ignore the off the wall nasty people and concentrate on the good ones on here.

I have never posted here, but here are my feelings: I love reading on here, but I admit I enjoy the positives more than the negatives. I know it's hard. I have done this job for 35 years, and yes, it's changing, and yes, sometimes I want to scream (and sometimes I do), but the reason I keep doing it is because for every report I type, I feel like I am helping a patient. Wish I made more? Absolutely I do, but I have learned to live and have learned to be scrappy and keep on truckin'. (Giving away my age...ha!)!! At any rate, I did a lot of soul searching and spiritual work on myself, meditation, prayer, whatever it is you call your communication with your higher power, and now I just do it for the good of someone else instead of myself.
well I must have missed something - cuz I see no attacking going on here nm

It appears the moderator already moved the snarks - Posted on this thread yesterday
[ In Reply To ..]
There were a couple of totally uncalled for snarks posted under the OP's question. Since those are gone, I assume the moderator saw them and removed them.
then why keep bringing it up? - not to sound snarky
[ In Reply To ..]
but I mean, they're gone.
I am right there with you...please, don't let... - noneya

"the hounds" get you down. They are so unhappy and I think it makes them feel better to pull others down with them. Remember, "misery loves company"! Take care.

New To VR - Need Some Tricks Of The Trade!
Apr 04, 2011

Been working with VR since last October.  After rebuilding shorthand file and adding words to autocorrect for the last 5 months, I feel those items are no longer a insignificant factor hampering my production.  Sadly, I'm finding I'm not as productive as I need to be in order to make a living. Anyone have any VR tricks to increase production?  I'm headed to the poor house if I don't get this figured out soon! Truly appreciate any help you can o ...

TAA (Trade Act) Information
Jan 14, 2013

I am looking for any Axolotl MTs who have been let go within the last year to sign a petition with me:  http://www.labor.ny.gov/workforcenypartners/taaforms/taa-petition.pdf It does nothing against the employer; in fact, they usually support the act.   There need to be at least 3 workers to sign before it can be submitted.   I hope every MT who has lost their jobs has applied for this...  MQ is on their list already, as is United HealthGroup (only not for MT).  Plea ...

Anyone Know Anything About The Trade Act Petition?
Dec 16, 2013

Got a call today from the Dept of Labor and the nice lady said I was entitled to educational benefits of $27,000.00 and/or if I got a job for, let's say, $10.00 an hour "they" would pay me $5 more because of something to do with MModal and NA Free Trade; that MModal was "adversely effected" (her words) because of outsourcing----that Americans are now missing out on jobs, etc., ect.....Really didn't know what to make of all what she was saying, but I told her to send me the paperwork. Trade Act News About Medquist
Dec 24, 2009

I spoke to a representative of the Trade Act in person today to ask some questions.  I learned this and want to share it to help empower those who feel hopeless this season: -All states are participating in the Trade Act.  -There was an old version of the Trade Act which necessitated that you be laid off by your company to benefit with the Trade Act.  The new version (ending with #7, not #6) starting in February 2009 allows those still working to enroll in the program. -Medquis ...

I Visited One-Stop And Asked About Trade Act
Nov 03, 2009

I decided to look into the benefits of the Trade Act which apparently includes only some states but which MQ has been qualified for.  I'm not yet unemployed but need to at least feel prepared.  I live in California so was given the name and number of the person in charge in my part of the state.  I also picked the brains of the One-Stop personnel about career changes.  They are a WEALTH of information, including 2 excellent websites:  www.edd.ca.gov www.onlin ...

Is Anyone Aware Of The Trade Adjustment Assistance Act?
Jun 12, 2012

I just found out about this government program.  From what I understand, it helps those who have lost all or part of their hours/income due to outsourcing of their profession, especially us older workers who need to retrain in order to reenter the workforce in another field.   It looks to me like Medical Transcriptionists should fit their description, and we should be eligible for some funding to get some training!   The catch is, in order to file, you have to have at least 3 pe ...
