If I was going to create a position for mmodal - sm

Posted: Jun 23, 2014

It would be a person to go into this blasted repository and make sure everything was right. And then work with the hospitals to make a standard format so that every report looked the same, you know orders of headings, names of headings kind of thing. So tired of seeing different ways of doing things by different people, based on God knows what.

I agree. It would be a job worth paying for - - unlike all those dingbat managers.

I think that's already supposed to be part of the CCM/QC job. - nm

They are just rocking it out aren't they? Wish they would pay me, would have it moving right along.

If I was going to create a position for any MTSO - It would be

to QA the doctor's dictation. I would give them their report with blanks on it, and a time stamp where they could listen to it. I would just love to be able to remind them what a danger to patient health they can be. I would love to point out that if you work in an ER or a specialist, your sing-song antics and slurred garbage, because you think you are too important to provide specific details in an intelligible manner, is delaying that patients' care, who needs your report to obtain further authorization for medications, other physician visits, labs, and other tests or imaging. Also, Dr. Mush-Mouth, you have certainly done your part to increase the cost of your own healthcare documentation, requiring QA, maybe more than one of them, someone at your own facility, and finally, you, yourself having to revisit that report that you slaughtered to straighten it out. I might also throw in, you are costing an MT/editor valuable time that we could be spending on someone's report that cares while you cost us money and put our jobs in jeopardy.

Sorry. Vent over.

Venting a little further, I would add - sm

MM is a very large company. There could be dozens of MTs working on your account and your reports. Since you and your facilities have chosen to go this route, you no longer have your own "personal MTs" who are assigned to you, who learned to read your mind. Patient identification and demos should no longer be beneath you. It is he or she, not both. Their age could change each time you see them. You need to know what day it is. And BTW....Dr. Jones and Dr. Johnson have a first name. You need to share that.

Finally, just once, I would love to transcribe exactly what you say and have you edit it. We know what you "mean," but again, you chose this and now we have other people to answer to when we try to help you, so you need to try to help yourself.

Speech Recognition - Contemplating A Position At MModal
Sep 07, 2012

Hello:  I am contemplating a position at MModal.  I understand a lot of the work is speech recognition.  Can anyone fill me in on what program you use, is it quick, does it learn to correct mistakes made over and over by a doctor, and do you think you can make $ with a big percentage of SR reports?  I understand the pay is less than straight transcription.  Many thanks in advance for your opinions.  ...

Offered Position With MModal Paying A Whopping
Oct 19, 2012

4 cpl editing; however, 99.5% will be Voice Recognition I was told. Then she went on to say you guys average anywhere from 287 to 300 LPH with Voice Wreck. When she got into the part about they pay for up to 2 consecutive spaces, and if you send more than 5% to QA, I sort of zoned out. Told her I will give her my decision once I think about it over the weekend. Not. Whew it was depressing just listening to all of their demands. ...

Does This Put Me In A Bad Position?
Jan 06, 2011

I just wrote a very long post, but decided to minimalize it because I feel very on edge with my company and I'm doing the absolute best I can. If you know the hospital that hired your company is not happy with the work that is being produced, and you are able to see glaring errors in other people's work, would you say something to management or keep it to yourself? This is MY job too, and if the errors continue I am afraid the hospital will go elsewhere, meaning my job is gone as wel ...
