To those doing the MT/MME position - madmamma

Posted: Jan 15, 2010

I know from previous posts on here that that job isn't the big thing MQ was making it out to be (horrible editing pay, etc).  BUT...do you guys at least have work to do, whether it is typing or editing?  I am just an MT and I run out of work daily.  If I had become an MME as well, would I have at least been making a little money, or are you guys running out of work too, no matter what?

Thanks.

Nothing wrong here. - Busy MME

The only time that I have run out of work was I think on New Year's Day. Other than that, there is always work. When we run out of QA type work, we immediately start getting MT work.

I was an MME and left due to NJA all the time & about - a 50% pay loss.

I NEVER run out of work. I do MT/ME, strike that, reverse it, ME/MT. I have compensated for the pay difference/cut in ME work by doing as much as I possibly can. I am making about the same, but I HATE ME work. I just an old fashioned MT and would rather type than edit.

I work in SA4 and we just had an "adjustment" made to our accounts. Where as I was doing about 60/40 MT/ME, I'm now doing 98/2 ME/MT. Bummer.

Decided to get back to substitute teaching/school office work and submitted app pack today. Don't want to work like a dog for MQ anymore. Like the idea of a 7 to 3 job at about 26 K a year and bennies.(fingers crossed they take me, getting older and all!)

Anyway, like I said, my account/region, whatever NEVER runs out of work.

MME NJA - whocares

Out of work often former SA4 South, getting "helper" accounts, aka cesspool

Such negativity! The new accounts keep us - working! Just learn them

[ In Reply To ..]
like you learned your original accounts and quit referring to them as the "cesspool." That is so negative. They are just other accounts and having them to help out on will keep us from getting NJA. There are times that other areas get our original accounts to help us out -- wonder if they call our accounts the "cesspool" ? We need to be able to transcribe/edit/correct ANY DOCTOR IN ANY SPECIALTY, not just ones we are used to. I'm glad we have "helper" accounts. They pop in throughout the shift according to their turnaround times and I'm glad they do. It is mind boggling that the same people who complain loudly about NJA also complain loudly when the company finds a way to send them work so they won't get NJA !

you are ridiculous - and grateful

[ In Reply To ..]
Okay, I quit, you can learn my accounts too. You will have plenty of work now.

OMG, now we have to be politically correct tooo funny - BUNION

Obviously below has not been a MT long enough to appreciate when it was a real career. CESSPOOL IS A WORD!!!! and it pertains to MQ work load. Yes, I would complain also, if I was still there. MQ has really done a number on their employees and if you do not like it, do not read it.

Love,
Bun

Sorry forgot where I was, this is to ABOVE - BUNION

That is all I heard from that post was blah, blah and more blah. Just learn, just put up with less money, just pull your hair out, just do not worry about insurance, who cares if your job goes to India, just do it because you are told. Just take a hit because the program is not working, just make it up, and if NJA comes up just go check later. OMG. Just go, go, go, just learn the dictators that have no clue what they are doing, learn the different languages that "they" are speaking so you can make $5 an hour, just do it. Reminding you there is no back up help, no standards, no tools per MQ to help you, as they are gone, but dang it just do it! Are we still in America? How can they do it if they can not do it?

Does This Put Me In A Bad Position?
Jan 06, 2011

I just wrote a very long post, but decided to minimalize it because I feel very on edge with my company and I'm doing the absolute best I can. If you know the hospital that hired your company is not happy with the work that is being produced, and you are able to see glaring errors in other people's work, would you say something to management or keep it to yourself? This is MY job too, and if the errors continue I am afraid the hospital will go elsewhere, meaning my job is gone as wel ...

MME Position
Apr 03, 2012

Are there any MMEs out there who regret having become an MME? And if you become an MME, are you able to go back to just MT status if you decide you do not like it? I am trying to understand how this is considered a pay boost and if it is worth testing for. Did you see a significant increase in pay, a slight increase, no increase at all, or did you actually lose money? Thanks. ...

Does This Sound Like An IC Position To You?
Jan 26, 2010

The following nasty gram was sent to all independent contractors from the company owner.  I'm just curious to know . . . how many ICs treated like this? Hi everyone - I wanted to touch base with all of you immediately, as we have a very serious problem.  Aside from a very few MTs who have notified us in advance that they would be out, we have many MTs who are not working their agreed upon shift and it has put us in a serious hole.  If there is work in your pool for the physi ...

Need Some Advice About A Position
Jun 08, 2010

I need some advice about a position that I am being offered.  It is an IC position.  They want Tu-Sat or Sun-Thurs and 1500 lines per day.  This is supposedly 70% VR and the rest is straight typing.  I know that techniqually they aren't supposed to require weekend work and line requirements for IC, but how is the best way to negotiate this and still get the job?  I hate the job that I am currently doing and don't make enough money at it.  I usually do work ...

I spend several minutes filling out everything I have to document, then only a few seconds transcribing, then back to documenting the next job that is only a few seconds long. Starting A New PT IC Position
Sep 01, 2012

I have a full time employee position wtih another company.  Beginning Sept 3, I will start IC for 3 days out of the week for 3-4 hours.  It pays 0.09 cpl with spaces using DocQscribe.  I figure in 3-4 hours  I will probably do 800 lines as I will probably work 3 hours.   Being that it is late in the year, do you think the extra income from Sept to December would make a huge difference in my taxes, or should I send taxes in to the IRS, and will I have to file as self ...
