orthopedic MT position - ? scam

Yesterday on the job seeker's board, there was an ad looking for an orthopedic MT and it is no longer there. Could this have been a scam? Now I'm nervous because I sent my resume. I believe the contact person's name was Jana Williamson and the email address was girlscoutjkw@sbcglobal .net. Does anyone know anything about this position? TIA

I saw that ad and considered applying, but didn't. I saw another post by an MT who said they had tested for an Ortho position that sounded like this one. They were asking how to send an FTP file. So maybe they just already hired someone and removed the ad. Hope this helps. :)

Do you see the sbcglobal.net? That should be an indication that what you thought is true and that is why it was taken off. That company tries to sneak in the back door all the time and they charge you and they are actually recruters (I think) or pretend to be. It a company out of India. Check with the moderator to be sure though. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't!

Thank you for your help. I have just started job hunting as one of my doctors just retired so I'm not sure who is a scam and who isn't. I will be much more careful in the future.

sbcglobal.net is a U.S. company, a DSL provider owned by Yahoo - sm

I don't know quite what you're saying, but sbcglobal.net was an AT&T company that is now owned by Yahoo. They're a US DSL service and have nothing to do with India or MT. I don't know why you think SBC Yahoo tries to "sneak in the back door" on an MT board. Anyone in the US can have an sbcglobal.net address, just like anyone can have a gmail.com or yahoo.com address.

I think it is coincidentally the ISP provider for a scam company, - thus the confusion.

but this was about an ortho position with Clear Choice Transcription. I passed their test, was offered a position (only to find out they do not support satellite, which is CLEARLY states in my resume) and when I tried to reply that I could not accept because of their not being able to support satellite, it came back as spam. I do not get this.

This surgeon dictates the same over and over in multiple reports, and I cannot understand what type of testing this is. "s/l Manuar test reveals 5/5 strength in forward elevation, external rotation, internal rotation, and abduction." "s/l The remainder of Manuar assessment exam of left upper extremity reveals 5/5 strength throughout all major muscle groups." I thought about the possibility of manual test, but that just does not sound like what he is saying. Thanks so much! ...

I know this is something small and silly but she says it twice and it sounds the same way to me. It is an ER report on a pt with knee pain. There is pain to palpation of the anterior portion of the patellar area radiating down into the s/l "empatellar" tendon area. Or inpatellar, or enpatellar. Any ideas? ...

The limb was then carried through a range of motion and showed no impingement in the young patient, and s/l seduction with an acromioplasty was indicated with no evidence of a rotator cuff tear. I have listened to this about 30 times and can't figure out what he is saying. There is a slight ESL so that is making it more difficult. thanks for any help! ...

Typing difficult dictator...speed talker.... Sentance reads: MRI shows the tibial eminence fracture but the ACL appears to be intact. There is no apparent increased signal for intracepts inter rupture. "intracepts" is not making sense and I am not for certain that inter rupture is adquate...maybe I am just tired and my brain/ears are not functioning well...any help would be appreciated. ...

Report is a total knee arthroplasty.... A (S/L "4/10 stilus" (or stylus) was used. Next, once the cutting block was locked in position, the (S/L "Gorbitrough" ) was placed in the posterior aspect of the joint to protect the neurovascular bundle. Thanks in Advance... ...
