I was fired. I started with Medquist in 1998. They fired me in 1997. I was hired and Spheris and became a Medquist employee after they bought Spheris. I was fired again today. I just hope Medquist eventually stabilizes and the employees are happy again. I hope I find something suitable for me. I wish the best for all. It's been one hell of a bumpy and uneven ride. Bon voyage to me!!!

I was part-time MT and MME. I must admit, however, that I would look at my paycheck and think, "Yeah, right, ha, ha." It was impossible to make money and I let the low-pay treadmill burn me almost completely out and I was not adhering to a strict schedule. Like I said, I hope they have found their balance, business is good and the MTs are happy.

I was fired today also. Said that for a period in March I did not meet my minimum line count (missed it by 100 lines). I was a flex part-time MT and MME with MQ for 5 years.

They did a quality audit on me two weeks ago and I scored 99.9%. I say good riddance. I was tired of being bounced around from manager to manager and never getting responses to my emails.

On another note, does anyone know how we are supposed to return our equipment? She said someone would email me but they shut down my MQCentral email. I guess they will send it to my personal email?

I am wondering if I've been fired today as well, although I've had no contact from my manager. I went to clock in earlier this evening and found my manager had already approved my timecard. I submitted a work order, later went to check my e-mail and found I could not log in there either. I can get onto DQS and work though. Is that odd or is that how they work here? Found it strange that no one has contacted me.

about one week. they should be sending you shipping labels to return the equipment. Just an FYI, DOCUMENT everything. Six months after I left MQ I got a letter stating that they had not received the computer they sent me and I had to fax them the confirmation notification they signed when the equipment was returned and still have the email that they received it and the "sorry for the inconvenience" and that was 2 years ago . . . just saying.

Same thing happened with me in 2006. After I had resigned with 2 week's notice, I had to keep calling them, reminding them to pick up the equipment. Finally, the pickup was scheduled, I packaged everything and UPS came and picked it all up. At least 6 months later, I received a threatening certified letter, stating that they would take legal action if I did not return the equipment, which had already been picked up. Of course, I still had the UPS pickup receipt. I had to prove it by scanning the receipt and emailing them the copy. In return, I received a very lame emailed apology.

Per the above post, I see that I am not the only one who had this experience with Medquist equipment return. So, whatever you do, DO be sure to keep all pickup receipts.

Dear fired: I just contacted my CCM and he sent me the compliance sheet. There must be some reason you were fired: Not working yours hours, not meeting productivity, etc. There are three warnings they give you. You should have gotten them. So I believe the other people when they say you are "stirring the pot."

Isn't it odd that being fired from MQ isn't a disgrace? Being fired from any other place would be total humiliation, but I don't think anybody here would ever look down on another MT who was let go. MQ doesn't discriminate. They justly fire bad MTs, but they also fire good MTs who are stuck with crummy accounts, accounts that constantly have NJA, and probably a ton of reasons that are beyond our control. ...

Has anyone been fired and able to draw unemployment from this ridiculous company? I just can't take it anymore, want to quit, but think if I can somehow draw unemployment that would be great for me. So I've been going back and forth since the beginning of this "safety pay plan" getting around 99.5% to 100% for 2 weeks then falling off the grid at 98% (and once much lower), back on the grid, back off.
