I have been targeted like crazy on audits, getting them every couple of days, and albeit there are some things I did wrong (had/has), I am getting marked for stuff like leaving a blank, sending to QA, and then marked wrong for the blank on a critical error saying I should have been able to find this.  I could not hear it, so how could I find it?  I should have just sent it to the client, but really felt that a fresh set of ears might heart what this mushmouth was saying.

I guess I am doomed, and of course, making over 10 so yeah... they want me gone.  My question is, if they fire me, can I still collect unemployment?  I cannot believe after working here the amount of years that I have, suddenly I am a horrible transcriptionist. 

I am pretty sure I will lose my house and car, but have been unable to find another job that will accept my schedule.  I guess this is what 16 years gets me.... others get pension, I get to lose everything.

Never assume another set of ears can help, just send it to the client with a blank. They always get it whether they hear it or not (many times I am sure they just guess). Before FTR, I would get things back where they filled in a blank and when I relisten to it, it is obviously a guess because you can't understand what it is. I certainly would be writing the QA supervisor and cc'ing it to my supervisor on being marked critical for leaving a blank. Fight them!!! Don't sit back and take it. Whether it is a great place to work or not, you obviously need your job, as most of us do. Do not let them push you around. Fight for yourself. If I have a bad recording or dictator and can't understand what they are saying, I don't care if there are 20 blanks, it is going to the client. I put a note in politely saying that I could not hear because of poor audio or poor dictator quality. That stuff is not your fault. Don't take it. I make mistakes too and am willing to accept mark downs for them, but I refuse to take a mark down for something that is not my fault and will fight them until they correct it. I have caught many, many mistakes made by QA and have written QA sup and CCM asking that it be corrected. Again, don't let them push you around.

I have been fighting every month for 3 months on this stuff, and I am tired.

Once all of my "is" were changed to "was" in the PE and they were all marked critical.

I don't think I have the fight in me anymore.

Those are not critical errors and perhaps they could get you on a minor if they want to, but don't quit fighting. They are doing it because people are giving up. Come on folks, keep fighting, don't give up. Then they will keep doing this stuff.

A little story, I used to work part time in an office. I had a woman harrassing me constantly. I went to the director of the office and told her. She was friends with the woman so "had a talk" with her. Of course, it did not help. The other people in the office even saw it and stuck up for me. She still did nothing. This went on for over a year. I was a wreck, but I had a son I was taking care of and could not lose my job. I finally went to the company lawyer and threatened to file a harrassment suit on the boss for not doing anything about it. She would not speak to me for quite a while. The other woman would not stop the harrassing. I finally went to the boss with my finger in her face and told her she better do something now! And then I went back to the lawyer. Finally, the woman was asked to leave the company. Long story, but you have to keep fighting for yourself. If you can look in that mirror and say that you do not deserve what is happening, keep fighting. People are giving up, this is why they are getting away with it. Sorry for the long story, but just want to show you that we can win if we stop taking this crap!

My daughter is being harrassed by her boss,telling her she can't do her job right and she is slow yet the idot brings her a T-shirt back from a vacation to thank her for doing such good job while she is away!! Can't figure this witch out!

Well, I am certainly not a lawyer, but I would have her document dates, times, events, etc. Hopefully, even witnesses. Perhaps she could have a talk with the boss first and let them know that their behavior is not appropriate. If all else fails, talk to a lawyer. I would definitely make sure I have things documented. I had a book written on this woman and witnesses. I am not one who wants to sue, I just want to do my job and not be harrassed. That is why it took me so long to go above the Administrator's head and talk to the lawyer. This was a mid-sized city that I worked for, in the HR department. I liked my job and did it well, but this woman just did not like me. Like I said, I finally went to the city's lawyer and threatened to sue. I did not want to sue, even let her know that, but I had enough. I learned a long time ago that people will push you around if you let them. If I lose my job over the fight, so be it. I was looking for a job when I got that one. We all tend to back down because we fear a lot of things about losing our jobs, but this is why employers get away with it. This woman had harrassed several people in the past and they quit. I feel if I am doing a good job, why should I lose my job, the person doing the bad things should.

Sorry, but its the fighting back that gets you in trouble. I did exactly that and then every report was audited and bottom line - I scored 97.7% and was to told "TO BAD,IT NEEDS TO BE 98.8%,sign out of MQ and stop working." Just like that. Fight, don't you get it they want us out.

You certainly have a right to your opinion. I am just saying what I am doing and will continue doing. The original poster can do whatever they would like, either give up or fight. I respect your opinion, but I'm just not one to give up. I certainly do get it that they want us out, but I'm not leaving without a fight and If I am put out, I will continue to fight.

I felt as you feel. I documented everything that QA could not get, sometimes literally a few dozen in one report. The audio was atrocious. I wrote email after email telling of poor quality, mistakes by doctors, etc. In the end my CCM was so very sweet and said she fought tooth and nail for us, but to no avail. She told me that nothing would change their mind. The brass was sticking to their agenda. Bottom line, it was not worth the stress and the constant disruption in my life. I was constantly so angry I could not see straight. If anyone has a way out, take it. This will never get better. "That's my story and I'm stickin' to it."

If they fire you, you absolutely file for unemployment. Hell, you would probably make more with unemployment than you do with your job right now (sad state of MT field). Maybe you could look at Transcend. I work evenings and we can't keep up with our work.

Additionally, Transcend just follows suit of the Q! I don't think jumping from a frying pan into a fire is a smart move.

I'm sorry, but I see you posting in every single threaad you can encouraging these MTs to apply at Transcend, and I'm ready to call you out on this.

Are you Transcend management out surreptioiusly trying to recruit in these threads, or are you just a new Transcender who can't see the forest for the trees yet?

Seriously, in nearly EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR POSTS, you attempt to stick "Transcend" and "apply" in there, and your stories aren't adding up.

I never accuse anyone without some validity to back up my suspicions, but anyone who cares to check back on your posts will likely see what I do; that about 85% of them try to steer people to Transcend, "Mini Q."

Regarding Transcend. I disagree, we run out of work often, and it is more than 75% ESL, difficult ops and other very technical reports that should not be dictated by ESL! IMO...

yes you can collect unemployment but our wages have dropped this year and since I too was also 10 years with this company and never had a bad audit it comes as a shock.

I was fired because could not keep the 98 percent error rule. I told unemployment why I was fired and told that I could not meet their requirements.
they said that I could collect with no penalty. I collected for 6 months.

Got Fired From The Q - Ha Ha

Well, I was officially fired yesterday.  Up until last summer, I was one of their top producers, never having an accuracy problem.  The reason I got fired?  I got sick. Isn't it odd that being fired from MQ isn't a disgrace?  Being fired from any other place would be total humiliation, but I don't think anybody here would ever look down on another MT who was let go.  MQ doesn't discriminate.  They justly fire bad MTs, but they also fire good MTs who are stuck with crummy accounts, accounts that constantly have NJA, and probably a ton of reasons that are beyond our control.  ...
