Hey Wannie, isn't it nice that we do not have to endure the wrath of the bitter MQ folks anymor - wasHappyMt

Posted: Dec 17, 2011

I must say, so not going to miss the bitter ornery folks on this board!  Soo glad to be out!!  Doing the happy dance as we speak!  I hope you "steal" a few extra lines this week! ;)

Enjoy that cushy day shift a few more days (yes, my tongue is in my cheek).  I don't think there is anything cushy about wondering if you can pay your bills because MQ took all your old accounts and gave them away to their "old" employees without any regard for the people that had to work for them without a choice.

See ya over at Transcend!

Au revoir!

Doubt the old employees got the work - probably the OS employees

However, I am just an ORNERY FOLK, what the heck do I know?

Wow, some of us really tried to sympathize with you too - anon

There are bitter, ornery folks on EVERY board - have you read some of the other pages on this site? Transcend probably has bitter, ornery folks working there too.

Some of us really tried to sympathize with your situation and understand what you must be dealing with but for you to be so nasty on your way out tells me that our compassion may have been misguided.

Don't let the door hit ya in the @$$.

Wow, that was uncalled for...sm - wasHappyMt

my post was directed at all the mean-spirited posts from the discussion below. I know there were actually some nice MTs at MQ. Some people DID understand the problems. MOST, did not. My post was directed at the ones that did not, and you know who you are.

What was uncalled for was your "snippy" post to Wannie - anon

You haven't worked for Medquist long enough to understand what has made most of us employees "mean-spirited". Remember, you are a new-comer. Some of us are long-timers and have dealt with a LOT of dysfunction with this company over the years. Most of us don't know what it is like to have had your "cushy" job because we don't have one of those - most of us struggle every single day to pay our bills and feed our children. So for the "new-comers" to our company to come on board and publically "announce" and joke about taking our lines and working whenever they damn well please is NOT going to get you positive responses. THEN on top of it you leave a snippy little post about how mean-spirited we are after a few of us reached out to you IN SPITE OF your group announcing utter disrespect and lack of protocol in working outside of your schedule just so YOU can get yours and to hell with everyone else. To be honest you should be glad any of us long-timers are even giving you the time of day, muchless congratulating you on your new job.

You seriously need to learn a lesson about tact and diplomacy.

yeah that was a really nice post.. - hmmmm

You don't sound like the type of person who would sympathize. Plus, this post wasn't meant for you, but you had to say your nasty two cents about it right? I seriosly doubt you had much compassion in the first place ;)

Yeah, I actually WAS one of the people who reached out - anon

And I genuinely was sorry about their tough transition because I wouldn't want to go through that. But her post was really not cool.

While I Sympathize With Wannie,

as in my 35 years at this job, I have certainly been at that point of tears and frustration more than a few times, the thread that follows her comments is unbeliievable.  Of course we would all prefer doctors/nurses etc were trained in manner of dictation and courtesy, etc, but to think we should not have to do the lousy dictator is unreal.  Not only is the VR and such absorbing all the good dictators, but if this job was so easy, then anyone with anatomy/physiology training could do i ...

I hate that you suffered the wrath of the Q!  I know exactly what you are going through.  Remember I was an eTranser too.  After days and days of dwindling work, I accepted a job with Transcend today.  I am going to give notice soon.  I start on Dec. 27.  I am so relieved to be able to actually know how much I will make in 1 month, 2 months, etc., and not have to hold my breath waiting for MQ to pull the rug out from under me.  My weekly line count has plummett ...

It's Hard Not To Be Bitter
Jun 09, 2012

Over the last 3 years I have referred to this site infrequently and looked at posts and thought to myself "sounds like a bunch of bitter folks."   I have tried to keep my "game face" on but I can't do it anymore. I moved to Nuance/Webmedx last December after Medquist purchased JLG and I was NOT about to work for them.  What a huge mistake on my part, not that either were good options.  My pay has dropped to minimum wage -- I now bring home MONTHLY what 4 years I had made pre ...

Jan 21, 2012

I think it's time to hear from "the other side", so I volunteered myself.  If you don't like it, too bad, but I will tell you the truth about how most MTSOs feel.  Through the years, I have gotten to be friends or at least friendly with many other MTSOs, some who have sold their companies and got out, some who sold their companies and came back and some who have never sold their companies.  I have been an MTSO for 24 years, and I was a transcriptionist and transcription ...

Just Typed My Last Report Ever And Have Officially Said Goodbye To Nuance - Bitter Sweet
May 07, 2015

Today ends an era of an 18-year career as a medical transcriptionist.  I resigned a couple weeks' back to accept a position outside of the transcription industry.  It is bitter sweet because transcription has been such a huge part of my life and became a part of my way of living.  I won't trash talk Nuance today because it has absolutely no benefit.  After all, I was able to muddle through the changes as well as what I see as unethical policies and procedures and wa ...

Questions For Current QA Folks.
Nov 02, 2010

Was wondering when the ad reads CPL for QA if that means the lines for the whole report you QA or just what you fill in for blanks.  Also, with your company, do you do feedback to the MTs?  I did QA a few years ago and do realize requirements in this position most likely are different with each company. but in that experience, I was required to give feedback on their form and it was such a cumbersome and time-consuming form, I made more doing VR/text. ...

AHDI Wants To Know Why Folks Are Not Renewing CMT.
Aug 27, 2012

Can't wait to mail my *reason* back to them. I can hardly wait for the mailman to collect my reply, and this is just my opinion. I'm sending the below to all three persons at AHDI named on the inquiry. 1. My company (and others nowadays) do not recognize CMT status any longer. 2. Why should I *recertify* myself to obtain a basically minimum wage-paying career, which is what the MT field has become these days, and the pay is getting lower as time goes by. I do applaud their efforts ...

around this time in the afternoon, yesteryear...I would take a look at my line count. It might read 2500 or so...I might decide to take a hiking, biking or swim break and if I chose, come back later at night and add another 1000 into the mix for the day...that would be a $350.00 day. Work flowed 'round the clock, I stayed in hotels for 1 or 2 months out of the year--window by the sea, as I transcribed away in front of a gorgeous view...but today, the only numbers before me are those on the ...
