Your initials used on reports - Angie

Posted: May 03, 2013

I recently was switched to a new account.  On the old account my initials appeared after the doctors at the bottom of all reports.  Now they are not my personal initials.  Anyone else using a platform that does this?

You should be sure you are getting credit for those lines and they - are not going to the other set of initials. nm

There could be valid reasons for what you see, but you should check with your manager. An example might be if the company wants to use a blind code to hide your identity (for whatever reasons). An MTSO I contract with currently took over an account from another MTSO and that MTSO had blind coded its own name - it was an Indian company parading as a US company and was trying to hide it from its US client. The client found out anyway based on the quality of the reports (snicker) and left that MTSO. I'm not saying this is the reason your MTSO is doing what it's doing, but just wanted to give you an idea it does happen in the MT industry.

Happened to me but very different scenario. When facility had - called requesting a change, not SM

correction, in a report, the qa person was logging in under her number, getting the job, and making the change. Her initialls became attached as the last person handling the doc. If this occurred during a pay period, her initialls got those lines, and thus, the pay. If this occurred in a job from a past pay periord, the job was still atttached to her initials, but I had already been paid for them. All said it was an accident, but I have to wonder if the qa person really knew what she was doing.

So, sista MTs, this is just another example of you HAVE to know how you are being paid and you have to check in every know and then and make sure no "mistakes" are being made.

Thanks. I will ask the manager. When I was on another account before this my own initials were used - Angie

Note couple job #s with alien initials. Ask what your lines are on those - jobs. That way, you can be sure Sm

you are getting the lines, not someone else. You have to note a job with questionable initials as solid proof this is happening. If you just claim it is happening with no job to prove it, MTSO could just blow you off.

Initials For Resident/dr/mt
Jul 12, 2010

Help please:) I work at a residency clinic and was wondering how to sign off a letter if you want to put the resident's initials (the one dictating), the precepting doctor and then your initials.  Usually they tell us just to put our initials on a new line, i.e. /mt.  For a doctor you would do: DR/mt, but what about the resident? Do you put both sets of initials? Thanks! ...

How Do You Type Your Initials On A Report?
May 30, 2012

I have always typed my initials with the doctor then me as ABC/def.  That is the way I was taught when I got my MA degree and have always seen it as that until I started working for this office.  They type it ABC:def or ABC;def.  Nothing is consistent and seems like everyone does whatever they feel like.  Also, when typing a note for a PA and CRNP I always put their initials and then the initials of the doctor and then mine such as ABC/DEF/ghi and I have not seen one report t ...

Fiesa - QA Has The Initials HBE (home-based Employee?)
Jun 09, 2014

If a QA has the initials HBE (home-based employee?), does anyone know if they are offshore?  If they are US, why don't they have US in front of their number? These people seem to be the nastiest of the bunch and the most nit-picking.  I just failed a post-audit because I missed out the word "the" where it made absolutely no difference to the meaning.  They also seem to make the most errors as I got a few critical errors reversed recently and it was the QAs with the initials HBE who were ...
