Every time that I log onto the system, I am reminded how disrespected, how underpaid, how unappreciated that I truly am.

So - MTSO - you can publish your "SOS, EXTRA HELP NEEDED!" messages all you want. If it ever comes down to your being willing to PAY for me to give precedence to YOUR needs, perhaps I'll consider it.

MEANWHILE, GO SUCK AN EGG, YOU BLOODSUCKERS!!

I realize over again why I hate these people so much, talk about rubbing your nose in it. I wonder if in India they are INDIA-number or if they are really the primary MTs now and we are just the "US" affiliates?

All week long, little to no work, then the weekends hit and emails out the butt telling us to get on and work...."We need everyone to jump in NOW and make up for the lines you missed during the week." Okay, I didn't "miss" lines during the week, you didn't PROVIDE me with lines during the week. I faithfully sat at my computer waiting for these lines, which I didn't get and now when I finally have a day off, you expect ME to make it up for YOU? Next email, "These are your accounts, you need to care enough to keep them current." I need to care to keep them current, while all the while I can't pay my bills? Do YOU care if I can pay my bills? Why do you give me a schedule and expect ME to stick to it, but YOU don't stick to it? I hope all of these MTSOs end up going down soon, they are ridiculous!

My heart goes out to all the MTs who work for MTSOs like the one described. I am so lucky and blessed. I am not writing this to rub any one's face in it, but to send a message to any MTSOs who might be reading.

I always try to work extra when asked. Why? Because I want my MTSO to succeed and for our clients to be happy. Why do I care? Because I make a living wage, have steady work, and awesome support from management and QA. This totally motivates me. If I were badgered all the time, did not have steady enough work to make a decent living consistently and had to sit at the computer waiting for work to dribble in, and felt like I was not fairly compensated for the work I did produce, I would not be motivated at all to help out or to help my MTSO succeed. In fact, I would be actively looking for another job. As a matter of fact, I am actually training for another job outside of MT simply because I feel that my MTSO is such a rare one these days and I do not feel secure about these good ones being around for very much longer.

Perhaps the MTSO will finally learn the value of morale (sm) - Erika

MTSOs: When your staff is treated without an ounce of dignity or respect, never given the courtesy of a response to emails, never thanked for all the free labor they provide for you on a daily basis, put up with the crappy dictators you refuse to counsel for wasting our time with repeated mistakes, pay us 1/4th what the client pays you for OUR work, you will get the same "consideration" in return, that is while there are still good MTs available to perform your slave labor.

I assume that the MT companies set up a contract with the client for them to pay on a per-line basis. Of course, they charge more than they pay us; that's how they make their money & that's fine. When I get partial dictation reports on EditScript where you don't have to do anything in regards to header/demographics, my speed in terms of lines per hour is almost twice as fast. When there are so many new worktypes with new MT Instructions, the speed goes way down. When the header shows no medical record number and I have to enter in demographics what speaker dictates, the speed goes way down.
