updated information on ANP transcription? - sassyMT

I'm wondering if anyone has some updated information on ANP transcription? I've searched and found some older info regarding late payment, low rate. I've passed their tests and have transcribed focus groups before, and right in their contract it states how often they pay and the rate, so I'm clear on that. I'm not trying to make a full-time job of this gig, just some extra money. It's always scary to hear some bad news about a prospective job, but it didn't seem overwhelming and there will always be someone who has had a problem. Thanks for any input!

Do they still have the verbiage in the contract regarding how if you're late or QA finds mistakes, you will be docked pay and/or not paid for the work if there is too much wrong with the report or if it is x amount of time late? This is the excuse what they use to justify not paying you and won't provide you with any documentation of "correspondence" they will tell you they sent regarding your mistakes. Watch this company very closely - you will end up working for free!

Come work for me. I'll pay you 2 cpl and when I feel like it.

And if LATE PAYMENT is not a hot button to steer away from, then what is?

I said that I found info that said that. People can post anything they want to on the web, and I was interested in current information, not several years old. I can google just about any company in any field and find people who have complained about them. I don't find that helpful. If people aren't aware of a company's payment policies (which these particularly people were mad that they were paid monthly), then that's their fault. Why would you even reply to my comment if you had no information on that company?

But keep trying, you'll get the hang of weeding the garden in 15 seconds or less youself someday.

...on a transcription board I visit. I do think everyone eventually got paid, though.

I think the earlier poster was just saying that problems with pay is something you should always take very seriously.

Just wondering if you mind telling what your test was like. I tested for them a few months back and felt like I was transcribing some actual work for them. It was odd. Thanks.

Yes, both tests were pieces of a medical seminar or presentation and an on-line discussion. I actually Googled the seminar I was transcribing and it was from October of last year, so I didn't feel like I was doing some of their work that was current or anything.

I had two very long dictations. There were detailed formatting requests and the corrections were bizarre and inconsistent so I was just wondering.

I was recently asked to test by this company and most of the communication was done via email.
