I started a new thread because I noticed your question about TransTech waaaay down at the bottom of the page and with no responses yet, so here goes...

In my personal experience, nothing has changed from the older posts. Even today, I have 4 accounts and I'm currently waiting for work to come into my queue. If you can get in with TransTech as a favorite, you can make BIG money doing 98% OP notes (about 30,000 lines per pay period). But, if you're just a regular, hard-working MT like me, you'll struggle to get the required 15,000.

Oh, and for the TT cheerleaders, please don't tell me to contact the bosses in the office to complain. BTDT more than once. In fact, I took it all the way to the top, so to speak, back in July when she posted her reply on the board and subsequently deleted it. All I heard back from her (after 6 followup emails) were cricket noises.

And for those who will reply with "if you don't like it, just leave," my answer to that is I've passed the multitude of tests with flying colors for a smaller company and I'm on the call-back list for openings when one becomes available. I'm looking forward to jumping this sinking ship but for now, I'll have to continue to tread water until I get the call.

I hope this doesn't come accross as snotty. I didn't want to sound like that. It's just that it appears that when anyone criticizes TransTech, they get attacked - I'm just trying to save the flamers some time.

around 10 years ago, so it has been a while, but it was the same back then. I was offered great pay and when I actually started making really good money, they told me to slow down!! WHAT? I start making money and cranking out the lines and they do not like that? Oh well. Their loss!!

It is really a sad state of affairs when we have to try and figure out whose arse we have to kiss to get the good work our way. For me in my company I went through many higher ups until I found the right one. The one who was going to give me what I ask for. Sorry you are not having any luck in this endeavor. Hope one of those other companies have an opening soon for you and find out your value.

Constantly ran out of work midshift but rather than allowing me to flex, I had to stay on shift and check for work every 15 minutes or so (without any compensation, I might add).

Changed shifts hoping for a steady work flow...Sat for 2 hours into my shift playing the waiting game.

At one point, I could slam out 30-40,000 lines per pay period with a really good mix of dictation and lengthy reports, then inexplicably the work started disappearing.

At the end, it got to the point where I was working 40-60 hours per week just to pay for my insurance.

I finally decided the stress of the job was not worth the insurance and found brighter horizons.

Best of luck to all of those TT'ers that remain. I know surviving there with little work is stressful beyond belief.

I don't know how anyone would get even the 1500 lines a day, minimum, on doctors that are highly inaudible and your have to remember where to capitalize, what to type, what to bold and who the heck they are telling you to give a copy to when you are floating from one horrible dictator to another from one state to another and very little work. I cannot believe that someone even gets 30,000 in a pay period. Then the 4 cents, which does not even come ot minimum wages, but you have to lie in order to just have a job because there are no more. One has ato be cherry picking. There are probably a lot of 'family' and friends who live in the area who would make up for the 'favs' as you say. The services ALL play games..because they can. Nobody is governing them. We are being used. Why aren't these companies investigated like the Madam in New York? I don't see too much difference.

We may have to draw some attention to what America's reality labor really is about. We give so much attention and money to the Hollywoods who have little education nor work skills other than promoting their beauty from having money, yet we continue to feed their needs and keep them in the lifestyles they are accustom to at the cost of our hard-earned 4 cents. Beverly Hills Housewives!! How about the reality show of the MT whose profession is used and abused and showing what it is like to be a 'hospital worker' who is kicked to the curb, calling it The 4-centors and show the no communication skills, or the emails. Maybe it would have to be a silent movie--then again that won at the Academy Awards.

You're correct. It's not cherry picking, but it's the way the worktypes are set in the queue at HQ. Some favorites are set up to get the easy worktypes before anything else, regardless of TAT. We can be out of TAT or close to being out of TAT, and those couple of favorite MTs continue to pull the easy jobs that are due back in 6 hours.

I thoroughly believe that they will be investigated by the LRB soon (at least I'm hoping). When you have MTs staring at a blank screen throughout the day and struggling to get the minimum, an audit or two would be interesting. There is proof that a few MTs are getting 3000+ lines in an 8-hour day of easy-cheesy work and the rest of us are pulling 12-hour shifts to get the minimum.

There actually is a humorous angle to all of this though. HQ believes that we don't know what's going on because they treat us like growing mushrooms.

It's only a matter of time. They violate so many labor laws. But for the needy MTs, they get called "Sweetie". Nice. Better notify those lawyers of yours. You know, the ones you use to threaten MTs with. This time YOU, TT, will be the defendant.

Really, TransTech is for sale, what do they need the MTs to stick around for completion of the sale? I seriously doubt you or your friend know anything about TransTech. Stop cranking the rumor mill.

Hi there fellow TT MTs:) Do any of you ever have trouble with QA at TT. Lately, I have been afraid to send anything in for correction, particularly 1 person, who dissects my reports down to crossing my Ts and dotting my Is. I know she is probably just doing her job well, and I know being in QA is a hard job, but this is getting depressing. I am not a newbie by any means, and I know my job well. Usually there are lots of posts here about TT. Just wondering what is going on now. I was hired and supposed to start work there, but could not work with satellite. For some reason, the EditScript would not come up. So I got rid of satellite and had Verizon Wireless installed. So far this is working pretty good. Much better than satellite -- knock on wood. Hopefully I can start working again. ...

I've been with TT for about 6 years but was recently offered an in house job at 4x the pay and really great benefits. I have to say I really enjoyed working for TT other than the times of low volume and I would recommend them. Things have changed for me and I can't turn down this opportunity but I do wish them well. ...

some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

I am surprised to see the job ad for TransTech on the Job Board here...I thought they didn't have enough work. There are two ads actually, one for acute care, the other for oncology. I see the below post about Transtech regarding low work volume. Are there any happy mts working at Transtech doing VR? At one point, I was reading positive information about this company and now all I see is that it has gone downhill fast, ie, Keystrokes same situation.
