Transtech question yet again - manny

I see the below post about Transtech regarding low work volume. Are there any happy mts working at Transtech doing VR? At one point, I was reading positive information about this company and now all I see is that it has gone downhill fast, ie, Keystrokes same situation. I do not have a job right now and I really need to work. I guess what I am asking is should I give Transtech a try or keep looking. Any and all current info regarding the current state of Transtech would be helpful.

I work the afternoon/eveniing shift so I always have work. I did work the morning/afternoon shift at one point and always ran out of work. I have no problems with TT, but it's the VR that is killing me. I make so much less doing it. They have always been good to me and are one of those companies that leave you alone to work. But again, if you don't like VR, then this isn't the company for you. I just wish the pay was higher, but at least I have a job.

SM speaks the truth, and it is nice to see someone does. She is right on. We all feel this way in that at least we have something better than nothing. But everything with TT is going to VR. Their higest account right now is hard to adapt to and if you have BILL's hand in your pocket, he isn't going to get much! We work for pennies and its tough. But, this company far exceeds Keystokes and many many others. But nothing is perfect, we all know that. What is going on with this 'career?' Dead end and it really is killing us. But who do we blame? The hospitals too just think too they can get cheaper services and then they switch and the companies have all these people who have worked on the accounts for a few years and now what work to you give them? So, can't blame them totally either. But 3 cents. I made 8 cents a line, any line,even 1 stroke on it--30 years ago. With TT also, no increase in sight anywhere. Nothing even extra for difficult doctors.

Thanks for your truthfulness. I keep running out of work and have been moved arund so, so much, so with you saying that you don't run out on a different shift, that helps. The Escript VR program is so not user friendly..or MT friendly and yet we do have to consider that we have a job. We have never been appreciated just feel depreciating.

I have to agree with the above: TT is a really good place to work, I think good people but yes, VR has mamed me to the point that I had to seek part-time employment. I, too, work the evening/overnight shift, just to get some lines but sometimes that's difficult too. But it's like this all over...we transcriptionists don't get respect anymore...VR is not right for quality especially when your wage gets cut but you're expected to do twice as much.

Hi there fellow TT MTs:) Do any of you ever have trouble with QA at TT. Lately, I have been afraid to send anything in for correction, particularly 1 person, who dissects my reports down to crossing my Ts and dotting my Is. I know she is probably just doing her job well, and I know being in QA is a hard job, but this is getting depressing. I am not a newbie by any means, and I know my job well. I started a new thread because I noticed your question about TransTech waaaay down at the bottom of the page and with no responses yet, so here goes... In my personal experience, nothing has changed from the older posts. Even today, I have 4 accounts and I'm currently waiting for work to come into my queue. If you can get in with TransTech as a favorite, you can make BIG money doing 98% OP notes (about 30,000 lines per pay period). But, if you're just a regular, ...

Usually there are lots of posts here about TT. Just wondering what is going on now. I was hired and supposed to start work there, but could not work with satellite. For some reason, the EditScript would not come up. So I got rid of satellite and had Verizon Wireless installed. So far this is working pretty good. Much better than satellite -- knock on wood. Hopefully I can start working again. ...

I've been with TT for about 6 years but was recently offered an in house job at 4x the pay and really great benefits. I have to say I really enjoyed working for TT other than the times of low volume and I would recommend them. Things have changed for me and I can't turn down this opportunity but I do wish them well. ...

some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

I am surprised to see the job ad for TransTech on the Job Board here...I thought they didn't have enough work. There are two ads actually, one for acute care, the other for oncology.
