Which do you find is the worst bully - MT

Nuance or M Modal...

And how does a person get fired rather than quit if the bullying is too much to take. Thanks in advance for those who have experienced it and found a way to deal with it.

I'm sorry - but I have been an MT a long time and this whole "bullying" thing, both in the schools and now in the work place - has gotten so out of control. Every little criticism becomes "bullying." In this economy, just be thankful for a job when MILLIONS are unemployed right now.

She's just asking a simple question about which company is better to work for, not that either one is all that great, but they seem to be the most reliable ones w/the most work considering they are the 2 largest in the industry. We all know what our jobs are like these days, scarce and barely pay minimum wage, but don't jump on her case because she simply wants some info so she can make a decision and earn a living just like the rest of us. One thing I have learned is no company is the "perfect company" to work for anymore, but we all have to make do with what is available to us. No, I don't work for either company, but the one I do work for does seem to be pretty good. I swear, it seems like my 6 year olds boys are a lot nicer and less of a bully than most of the "adults" on this board.

Sorry you are being bullied at work and here. I work for MM, and it is not bad. Depends on the CCM you get. Don't get fired from your job, just find another. Good luck to you and don't pay attention to the mean ppl here. You have enough to worry about at work. Good luck to you.

Never worked for either. But just want to say pay no attention to the critical responses you received. Usually the ones who tell people being bullied to suck it up and deal with it are the ones who aren't dealing with being bullied themselves. Look out for your own wellbeing. No one deserves to be demeaned.

Perhaps many of you have not experienced, but I am sure many have. I have had account managers fired for doing just that once it was proven and enough people complained about it.

Furthermore, say your company has over-hired or they have lost accounts and the work is low. They have too many MTs. They do not want to fire you for no reason because at that point you deserve unemployment. So they either come up with a reason to let you go, or see if they can make some quit.

A company I was with a number of years ago did exactly that. Let's face it, because no one is perfect, at any given time QA can actually find enough reports over a period of time to have the best MT fail an audit. We had lost many accounts, going down the tubes (company is out of business now), and the audits started. I started getting audited every week or two, sometimes twice in a week. I received 100% accuracy on each. I am sure my reports were not perfect, but QA knew what was going and why they were being asked to do this. It was not QA doing the "bullying," it was upper management looking for a reason to let people go. I did get laid off. I got severence pay and I got unemployment.

Don't be so quick to criticize. You could happen to you any day.

I have been an MT for over 20 years and have worked at a few different companies. I am currently with DSG, and I just have to say, DSG seems to have the WORST dictators of any company that I have worked for. I work on 5 different accounts for them and it is all the same. Any other DSG'ers out there that are experiencing the same thing? I don't recall being told when I was hired that I would be typing 98% ESL. Beware if you are thinking of working here! ...

Lately I have not bee doing well, short on line count, a few bad audits, I am in the dog house. I now have a fear that a I too will be let go. It is hard to work like this, wish I could just quit, but cannot right now, maybe in a few months, unless they terminate me. I understand the policy, 150 LPH, but sometimes I just cannot make it, dictators are bad, unfamiliar accounts. When it is good, it is good, but when it is bad, it is bad! I guess I will just keep plugging along until other wise :( ...

What if the extremely lower than ever volumes (OOW on 3 accounts at a time) is because some of the acute worktypes are being converted to ambulatory care WT since more and more patients are kept in observation status or "extended recovery" instead of being admitted. W(c)ould not some of those same-day surgery types perhaps be called ambulatory? We would likely be kept in the dark about that just like everything else, don't you reckon? Don't ever work for this sham of a company, who decides at the drop of a hat to drop wages to minimum wage base and then gives a pay grid to aspire to, all the while tying your hands behind your back with no work and no pooling. I have worked for Nuance a long time ago. They had e-scription and it was the worst program i have ever been in. I had to check, check, and double check the demographics and God forbid if there was something i had to correct! By the time i got to transcribing, i had already wasted a half-hour. If it just me, or does Superior Global have the worst Supervisors and QAs? They all send feedback like crazy, no one is on the same page, they can't keep track of what is going on, beg people to work and pay them NOTHING. I have never seen anything like this.
