Can anyone working here answer a few questions for me?  How many liph are you getting here or lines per pay period?  I hear good things about working with them, which is a nice change, but would love to have some answers regarding earning potential.  Please.......

Do research, check archives. You will find out a lot more than good things. There are some problems and they are really things you need to consider. They are all true (the things which are not good). I won't go into here because there is plenty in the archives. Don't get burned as others have.

if you look at the top of this screen underneath the tab where it says "post a new message" underneath that you will see a search button and a archives button.

Click on the search button and you should get a little box. Inside that box type the name of the company you are searching for example: "Keystrokes, 2014" I always put a comma after the name of the company and then type the year to bring up the most recent threads. Then scroll down a bit and you will see the results of threads.

Sometimes the search feature does not work so I will just go to google and search the name of the company by typing "United Transcription, MT Stars" and then google will bring up search results for threads listed in MT stars with that companies name.

I do this for any company I am trying to find info on.

I did a search and really did not find anything derogatory. I have worked for them for 6 months and not ONCE have I experienced "any issues." My pay has been on time each and every time, by DD and if I have an issue or a concern, "K" and even the owner of the company are available to address my concerns. There have been a couple of people here, myself included that have posted positive things about the company. However, there is that one negative poster, who refuses to go into detail about why their particular experience was so negative and only to "check the archives." Well, I did and the information there was extremely old and outdated and referred more to people taking tests for them.

Yes, there are ESLs on these accounts, but not that many and once you get to know what they are saying, the pretty much say the same thing over and over. You are also provided with samples.

My one pet peeve are people that are so "cloak and dagger" about things. If you had a negative experience, come out and say what that negative experience was and stop being so danged secretive about it.

the suit who does the hiring and everything else is here posting rah rah things and asking questions to recruit. So why answer the suit. She knows the issues. Fine, here are some just some: Too much ESL, not enough reports at any given time, say there is a lot of work then just gives you a few here and there. You say you do certain times but they call or e mail constantly when you say you are not able to work (and it is IC). Then the promises and the pay. Ha. Try to get paid when you first start. Wait a while and then see. Eventually you will when they feel like it. Want more? It is ALL in the archives. Now quit baiting for new hires and treat your staffing well and you won't have to keep looking for people. Quit manipulating and saying you have been there 6 months and have plenty, it's ESL but they are kind, yada, yada, yada. They are not kind. They promise the world, give very little, and in turn a month or two has gone by and you could have been earning much better and on time elsewhere.

First of all, I have never known "K" to come on here and post. I am an MT, with over 30 years of experience and have worked for MANY of the MTSOs out there. First of all, yes, you are IC. Secondly, they have NEVER called me to work. I will get emails and if I can't work, I let them know -- common courtesy with any MTSO. I have had PLENTY of work, so there has been no lack of it.

As far as ESLs, you are going to get ESLs with ANY service that you work for. I also have never had an issue with pay. When I started, my check and DD were NOT held. My first DD was small, but that was because I started in the middle of the pay period.

Again, I am able to call "K" or send her an email and we can discuss things. She knows that there are certain dictators that are not the best, and she takes that into consideration. You do not get "punished" for leaving blanks or having to send a report to QA.

As far as the pay is concerned, their rate of pay is pretty much standard now, unless you are one of the lucky ones to be able to land your own clients. It is straight typing and they have NO plans to go to VR anytime soon.

Sorry you had such a negative experience, but it sounds like you are the kind of person that might not be happy as an MT period.

Thanks for that post nn....couldn't have said it better. I have been an MT for United for over two years now. NEVER ONCE did I have an issue with being paid on time, accurate, and DD too. Never once! I'm finding that it actually is becoming a rarity as another MTSO I have worked for for 20+ years now is having "issues" with on-time DD. Not that I'm blaming them at all, but it is still concerning when 100% on-time with them has now become "iffy"....hopefully, this will just pass. I had one MTSO whose payroll was sketchy...great work, great people, but I can't wait weeks for my paycheck in the mail...I just can't.

"K" at United has never been anything but wonderful to me...and I have had a few health issues of late which I know other companies would have just kicked me to the curb for, but they didn't.

They have HORRIBLE ESLs on one account, but they have ESLs that I love to type because they always say the same exact thing over and over....

I'd like to thank United for being a great company....

I so agree. "K" will call and just speak to me and ask for "feedback," etc and ask for ways that things could be improved. I was very surprised when I received a card from her for my birthday. As I mentioned, since I have started there, I have only run out of work twice and that was generally early in the morning, when reports hadn't started coming through yet. She basically put me on 1-2 accounts, and like you said, once you get to know the dictators on that particular account it's pretty easy. Another thing too, is that they don't want "guessing," and prefer that you leave a blank and there have been a few of the docs, where I have wanted to tear my hair out, but they do try to communicate this to the facilities.

Wondering why if the issues are repeated they aren't fixed instead of baiting here for new recruits by bumping up the good posts and burying the old.
-- Pay the first paycheck on time, 2 weeks after the work is done as promised in the interview. Not whenever.
-- Give more than just ESL and give more work in general just like promised in the interview.
-- Be honest and upright, not sounding honest and then being manipulative.
-- Treat as an IC or pay as an employee.
-- State in the interview this is a subcontractor job, that is a job done by the MT to the company which is already the IC. Don't not say that and let the MT find out later they are a sub-sub contractor.
Above all be honest. Don't just sound honest and sweet/kind. Be honest. Walk the walk. Then you'll have people stay instead of leave and then post here. Then the suit having to boost the company by posting and manipulating this board.

. . . so we'll see.  I don't particularly like that they give you a choice of set shifts, even as an IC, which is what I want, because I have to juggle my work with another job as a travel agent.  However, I HAVE to have at least 1000 lines a day to keep me going between commissions.  I usually work in the evenings and early in the morning and I have no problem with TAT.  I don't need to be babysat and held to a set schedule, since I have been doing this for 20 ...

They're supposed to send transcription test today. It's been a few wks since I applied so forget what ad said. Found some posts in archives and somewhat concerned. One said they use "tests" to get actual work done, hired but never heard from again, another said scam (from 2006), pay 7.5 cents for 17 yrs of exp with clunky platform, and so on. But also looks like there are few different companies with same name. Already make over 7.5 cents so not interested in doing their test if that&# ...

I sent my resume in and just heard back last week asking if I was still interested. She sent a brief little word document with some account specs, cpl and paydates--no contract, HIPAA agreement, etc. I did three voice files the first day. Recently started with Axolotl (now part of United Health Group). I have 18 years experience and the account they put me on has to be THE WORST I have ever experienced, 99.9% horrible ESL's, on top of which their M*Modal platform is very, very slow. I have worked at other companies using M*Modal and did not find this to be the case with them. This account is VR and they pay by the hour because apparently the dictators and platform are so bad, an MT can't make any money by the line. Also ...

MQ is not offering Kaiser anymore, so my coverage will end May 31 and I will have to choose another insurance, probably United.  I wanted to get a tubal ligation, and at Kaiser the total cost would just be $10 (after a 20-dollar copay to see my PCP first that is).   In any case, very cheap.  Can anyone tell me if they've had a tubal ligation through United what the cost was?  Was it even covered?  I guess I could wait until we get our new insurance info, but I ...
