This is not some super-secret deep web site that only initiates with the secret password know about. Of course companies monitor the comments here. There is nothing at all surprising or unexpected about that.

All companies do not monitor these posts, are you serious? In looking at the posts below, it appears they have something to hide. I wonder, was the manager they recently fired spending too much time reading posts!

It sounds like they make threats everywhere. By the looks of their job listings on mtjobs, they must be firing everyone, or they are scamming again to recruit new MTs.

As someone else said, if it were a great company, as she said, they wouldn't have to monitor a message forum AND they wouldn't be hiring every 5 minutes. I think any company that is constantly hiring is a huge red flag that they aren't a good one to work for. The company I work for is actually a great company and I can tell you that I don't believe I have ever seen their name mentioned on here. Also, in the 7 years I have worked for them, when they send group cc emails (They actually cc, not bcc, because they don't mind the MTs talking with each other) it has always been the same names for the past 7 years. There is no turn around of MTs and that to me indicates a great company.

For the SS chick to say she can't help that some are not qualified? I mean, give me a break. I have worked for SS and my qualifications were an Associate's Degree in nursing plus 15 years of experience as an MT. I worked there and with all of the account specs I made minimum wage!! I guess perhaps they are looking for people with Master's degrees to make that minimum wage, I don't know, but that comment is ridiculous.

For the little bit of money these companies want to pay, they almost expect you to be a premed student. I have taken those horrible MTTests and never again. We are documenting, not writing a medical journal or the next great novel. What about all the reports that go through on VR w/o being edited or Scribes, who were never MTs and working for $8/hour? Not to mention India! Don't get me started. I mean seriously, who cares, and to think someone thinks we shouldn't post, because SS is monitoring. Let them. I hope these companies go under!

I wish all of these horrible companies would "monitor these posts." Who cares what they do or think. If they cared, they would make changes in the companies, but they don't. They probably thrive on the negative posts. I told Nuance I wouldn't work for them, due to the negative posts I read and it didn't make a bit of difference. You want things to change, QUIT! Yes, leave them high and dry. Talk is cheap and they know it and again, could care less. Let them read on.

And by the way, you are making a difference. Don't give up for sure and for the rest of the intelligent individuals, don't give up. It is awesome you told Nuance you wouldn't work for them! That is what EVERYONE should do. You did make a difference and all of those who are quitting and won't accept their sickening offers are making a difference. LOOK, they can't get anyone to work for them anymore, so something is happening. They have had to resort to outsourcing to smaller companies. And they can afford to pay these smaller companies how much to do this work? Do you think companies are accepting this work at 7-8 cpl, for sure NOT; especially when that is what they are paying their MTs to do that exact work. And if they can afford to pay another company a higher rate, why not pay the MTs that rate? Does anyone think of this? NOW just think if these smaller companies had a brain and wouldn't provide workers for them. Can you imagine what would happen then, how would they fulfill contracts? Keep letting the world know everything you know and keep making a difference! As far as Softscript goes, I think they are just plain stupid to do what they did. How long did they think they would go on before getting caught. They are finding themselves in the same boat as Nuance, scrounging for workers. BUT again, sharing experiences here is making a difference or they wouldn't be resorting to such desperate measures would they? This poster has my sincere respect!

I am amazed at how many people ask the same question year after year about company after company.  Companies have until 1/31 to mail W2s.  The bigger the company, the longer it takes to finish up the previous year's books and have W2s ready to print.  It takes a lot of time to print, assemble, stuff, seal, stamp and mail an entire company's worth of W2s.  Smaller companies often take just as long because they don't have a large accounting department or the manp ...

that MQ sent out that stupid letter stating not to worry, we will still need MTs, and that off-shoring will remain one of many solutions (including VR).  I really have no idea whether we will still be here after the first of the year or not (although that's what a lot of people on this board thought LAST year and it didn't happen....but WHY would they waste their precious money sending that letter to everyone if they planned on nixing us all soon?  Doesn't make sense.&nb ...
