Medquist buy-out-what!!!!!! Surprise, surprise! - Shocked

So, has anybody been involved in a Medquist buyout, how did that work for you? My company just announced we are now a part of MQ, but don't worry, everything will stay basically the same. Somehow, I doubt it! Did your job description change? Any info on your experience would be appreciated. If you want to stay confidential e-mail me if you want. Thanks!

Years ago I worked for YOG and they were bought by Medquist. Nothing changed for me for almost 2 years. What company were you working for?

remember when I was hired at all type and they found out where I used to work (Medquist, quit in 2008) the recruiter felt sorry for me, and she said "you don't need to say anymore, we know all about that company" And now they are going to be bought out. Again, so sad. I am so glad I am out of both companies

When it was last discussed at AllType, they flat-out denied it, not once but twice, as recently as 2-3 weeks ago.

They always denied buyouts until deal is totally done. nm - Maggie

It will stay the same for awhile, until they get you all blended in and/or layed off, it'll be one of the two for sure. I heard it was a great company (alltype). Unfortunately with MQ, sold their people to the devil. It won't be good in the long run. Oh, they'll for for sure paid the rates that cbay pays their people though, less than min wage in all of the 50 US states, about 1/2 of of that if not less. Sad day when a US company sells out to India. Moment of silence please................

Considering that they sent a company-wide announcement and then had conference calls to announce and answer questions all day yesterday and today, I am sure! Anyone working for a small privately owned MTSO beware because MQ is gobbling them all up! What a sell-out on Alltype's part, but I am afraid it is possibly a trend of the future. MQ has the resources to deal with all the headaches and the owners can get rich quick, lose the headache, and everybody else gets screwed...oh my!

Im glad I got out when i did. This doesnt surprise me considering things they had been doing over the last 3-6 months and lying about.

I also worked for YOG many many years ago and nothing changed for a couple of years, then the S___ hit the fan. Things were a lot different then, so I expect you would get some changes. Whenever they say nothing will change, be prepared.

What a shame, AllType was a great company. MQ stock is down from $11 to $7. Guess that is part of my money that they bought it with. MQ is beyond criminal. Worked for a company for 20 years before MQ bought it. I don't want to be associated with MQ. They will have regrets in the long run.

MQ has decimated our industry. Anybody who touches MQ will ultimately be poisoned. Review their history. Review the MT line count lawsuit of several years ago. MQ is known in the industry as "The Squid" because it snatches everything in its greedy and unscrupulous tentacles. Truly, my heart goes out to anybody whose company is acquired by them. I was working for a wonderful company--then MQ swallowed it--then it became hell on earth and I left--along with many, many others. Again, my condolences to those affected.

I just received a score on my Allied Med School Final exam of 84%, which really surprises me as I have been scoring upwards of 95 on the assignments and felt really good about these 5 transcriptions. From your experiences, what are my chances of ever being able to find a job with an 84 on my certificate? Turns out my weekly benefit is MORE than I was making at MM before I got laid off, at least recently. I'm guessing it's because I made more before and slowly but surely my pay kept going down down down. Apparently the UI benefit is based on an average of what you made all year or something. All I know is that by getting laid off, I am actually going to make much more than I did as of late. Isn't that a hoot. Good riddance M-Modal! ...

If I ran MedQuist: Pay Rate: No Tier 1, 2, 3. All MQ MTs would have to be Tier 3 and paid as such. Starting off at 9cpl with cost of living increases.
