Entrada Health Editor, please help. - Sue

Posted: Jun 15, 2013

I recently went through Entrada's internship and am now working for them as an IC editor. I have done extensive searching on line and can not find even one review from an employee for this company. I was told that I will be working Monday through Friday but was not given any specific schedule, which is how an IC position should work. I was also told I can go on line and work 24/7. I am not getting enough work to make my quota each day, and I am worried this will eventually cause them to let me go. I went on to work this morning (Saturday), and there were no jobs. My question is, does this company have work on the weekends, or do they monitor new IC's? I just started 3 days ago with this job, so I have no idea how it works. I am a bit frustrated as being told I can work 24/7 and then not finding jobs feels a bit misleading. Any input from current or former employees would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. :)

I believe there was a discussion on Entrada... - Rose

Sue,
They are a new company, aren't they? I think there was some discussion about them when they posted for editors a couple of months ago so you may want to do a CTL F search on this Company Board forum for their name. It's simpler to do a Google search as that will also bring up links to posts on this forum.

The claim you can work 24/7, but not finding enough work to make quota is pretty standard for most of the MTSOs now. It would be unfair to fire you for not making quota when the work just isn't there, but sometimes these MTSO's fire for the stupidest reasons. I worked for one that paid .07 cents per line for editing (when editors were just starting with VR). After working for them a year I was fired for putting two spaces after periods, although I'd never been told not to. I'm sure the fact was that they realized others were only paying .04 cents per line for editing.

This is a very unstable field today. Most are out of work. The false belief that they can eventually train VR to do it without editing is ridiculous but the bean counters are drinking the VR developers Kool-Aid.

Thank you for responding to my post. I did the CTRL F and no luck, also, no luck with Google.

I think your explanation is probably on the money. It's just odd that there was no work and hasn't been all day today. I am on a Monday through Friday schedule though, not sure if they even work on the weekends. Like I said, I can't find a single review on this company, other than the ones they have written that is, lol.

Thank you. :)

Interesting. Very little out there on them. - Please sm

I ran a Google search for Entrada transcription editor and the only discussion about them was the below link, but even that is very short on info and does not answer your question.

I am surprised there is even that, lol. Thank you. Those posts are from 2012. One person stated that the VR is hard to hear, but not true now. It is super clear, and there is very little typing. The pay is 4 cents per line now, however.

Well, I do like the company and the people have been very nice so far. I guess I can wait until Monday to get the answer to my question, lol.

Thank you! :)

InstanText And Entrada Platform
Dec 05, 2013

Have been lucky enough to have been working on a straight typing acute care account for the past 3+ years and am only now transitioning over to a whole new platform with VR for several different clinics. I have been using my InstanText software expander program for years.  Unfortunately, it now appears that the new VR platform, "ENTRADA," does not support InstanText.  The only expanders are ones you create in its own AutoCorrect, yet I am unable to import the autocorrect entries I hav ...

Nothing for Christmas, and it looks like our present is being told at the last minute that our checks will be a day late this week.  So much for all of the overtime, working holidays without holiday pay, no sick days, no paid days off...It seems like they could do more for their transcriptionists who keep their company going. ...

Could Anyone Who Has An HRA (health Reimbursement Arrangement) Type Of Health Care
May 04, 2010

tell me how that works?  I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan.  If your  company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500?  I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan.  TIA ...

Are You A VR Editor...or VR Proofreader?
May 05, 2011

I'm not talking about the official proofreader positions that people hire in as.  I'm talking about VR "editing" - meaning, when you get those reports where VR does what it's supposed to, and you only need to add 1 comma, for instance, in the entire report - and you are zipping along at the 300-400 lph you were promised, as justification for the 50% pay cut on switch to VR...isn't that actually proofreading?? ...but what about those OTHER reports...the ones that re ...

Medical Transcriptionist Week began May 20th to recognize MTs over a week. The theme this year: Patient Safety. MTs ensure those errors do not end up in your Electronic Medical Record.  Healthcare consumers are you aware that local hospitals are outsourcing their work to what are kno ...
