Did Keystrokes change hands in the last couple of years? Or are they run by the same people?

There have been a lot of changes there over the last year or two, none of them good. I left there last year towards the end of the summer and it was under the same ownership when I left (at least I think it was); however, lots of people were becoming suspicious that they were getting ready to sell or merge. There were an abundance of red flags when I left. Work was suddenly disappearing, accounts were being lost, several pay cuts, people in management leaving/being fired, etc. It's definitely not the same company it once was, unfortunately.

The same people own KS. Work disappearing? Where would it disappear to? They do not send offshore, which is usually what happens when work disappears. Accounts lost? Only to voice rec in radiology. Several pay cuts? Two in two years and not for everyone, mostly part-time employees. Still pay more than most companies. People in management leaving? No. Being fired? Yes. I think the person who keeps posting like this is one of those ex-managers that was fired. The one that I worked under should've been fired long before she actually was.

I am sure I will be attacked here for sticking up for a company that has been very good to me, but I really still love working for KS.

A pay cut is a pay cut. I don't call 7 cpl more than - no longer KS

most companies. When I was hired I was making 9 cpl, then dropped to 8 cpl, now it is 7 cpl. I made more than that when I started in this business 25 years ago. The MTs shouldn't have to shoulder the cost of acquiring new companies.

You have every right to stick up for KS, but you experience is not the experience of many that have worked there, including mine. I have said it before KS is not the worst place I have worked, but my experience was not a positive one for lots of reasons.

I also suffered pay cuts with them and they are still owned by the same family members. I'm glad I'm free of them. The above poster is right, why should we have to suffer with pay cuts when they get all the perks.

I couldn't agree more. Pretty much everyone in upper management is somehow related to or is a personal friend of the owner. They're not taking pay cuts like everyone else. They probably cut everyone else's pay so that they could give themselves raises. KS is full of nepotism and it's disgusting. I also am so glad to be free of them. Leaving was the best choice I could've made. I was hired at 9.5 cpl, then went down to 9, then 8.5, then 7 because I wasn't getting enough lines due to a huge lack of work and they refused to give me another account and they considered me part-time, even though I was sitting in front of my computer for 40+ hours a week waiting for work. That place is a total joke.

KS the worst company for me in my 40 years for a multitude - of reasons and all management.

I sort of agree with the negative. you see, i used to work there. for a week. they fired me because I couldn't do a perfect report after a week's time. OH, well. I had a feeling there was some nepatism going on anyway. I was going to retry, but wanted to know if the same people were running it. It sounds like they are.

Well that's easy. EHR! I lost my job at a local hospital in November due to Epic and we all pretty much lost our jobs in the dept and its not due to outsourcing. Slowly but surely it will happen to all of the services. I personally worked in Epic and they basically have really high tech ways for doctors to do their own macros. Currently the only work type my prev empl has are OPs.

I like Keystrokes. They have been good to me. Not sure why people love to complain on this board, but I have noticed that with every company, the complaining. Then people say they have gone some place wonderful, but yet won't say who it is. I think these people all live in lala land. Just my opinion. Go ahead, start bashing me since I like Keystrokes. Oh and NO, I am not a suit or management or anything else like that, just a transcriptionist earning a living!

They are run by the same people but they got rid of their leads and went to a central system with people who are not even medical transcriptionists...mistake number one...secondly, we have had 2 pay cuts in the past year and I personally have lost several accounts in the past year as well. I used to love this company, as I have worked there for many years, but there is no work and they refuse to train you in new specialities even though you are a seasoned MT..so we sit here and wait and wait...not sure what we are waiting for!!!

I simply do not understand why Keystrokes employees were not informed of changes in issuing pay. Pay was usually the last day of the week if the 1st or 15th was on a weekend. Thought that after not having enough work for a couple years now and always chasing work, I'd now have a "real job" as an employee and wouldn't have to worry about a steady paycheck and paying the bills anymore. I am assigned to 4 accounts, 1 new about 2 months ago and the other 2 a few weeks ago. At first there was tons of work, OT every weekend and now...nothing. There is no work ALL DAY LONG. ago and it stated I got a raise in my hourly wage (used for time off). Shocked but pleased, very much so. I am not going to ask anyone about it because I won't look this gift horse in the mouth!!! (1) Do you only fail if you fail a final at the end of the course, or are there tests throughout the course you have to pass to continue on?
