They are much quicker to get done than discharge summaries, i.e. no lab work, and no hesitations from the dictators while they thumb through the chart, etc., which can be time consuming. Once you learn the terminology, you will not want to go back to the other stuff. It is basically the same terminology over and over so it is very easy to catch on and learn. I can easily get to 2000 lines per day doing op notes.
