Scar at the "10 11 o'clock" position... - Karen

Posted: Feb 23, 2010

This is how it was dictated.  Do I type 10/11 o'clock position or 10 o'clock/11 o'clock position or some other way?  Thanks! Smile

10-11 o'clock position - mh

[ In Reply To ..]
is how I type it.

personally, I'd use "10- to 11-o'clock" - ggmt

FWIW, with multiple uses of o'clock such as your example, the BOS now suggests the use of suspensive hyphens.

O'clock Position
Mar 26, 2014

Just wondering what other MTs think.  I have always used (but my experience started with handwritten notes in handwritten charts) "9:00 position" or "12:00 position" but I've been corrected several times to "9-o'clock position."  To me, this looks "funny."  What do other MTs think? ...

Treatment For Infected Umbilical Scar..sm
Nov 11, 2010

Patient has drainage from a C-section scar from 20 years ago.  Diagnosis is a likely bacterial infection versus fungus.  Treatment with s/l ofloxacin drops 2-3 times daily as well as clotrimazole solution in case of fungal element. Of course, where he says s/l ofloxacin, it is not clear whether or not he's saying the "O" however, the floxacin is clear.  Can anyone verify this?  Does it make sense to use ofloxacin drops in this way?  Or does anyone know of a floxac ...

10 O'clock Or 10:00?
Apr 14, 2011

The doctor said:  The patient's EKG was unchanged from the EKG of 07/20/2010, both the 10:00 one, and the 11:15 one. He meant that there were 2 EKGs today, one at 10 and one at 11:15, that were unchanged from one almost a year ago, in 2010.  Is 10:00 incorrect?  Should it be "both the 10 o'clock one, and the 11:15 one?" ...

When To Clock Out OOW?
Jul 29, 2013

She and I had a few e-mails back and forth about when I should clock out OOW. I'm just...confused. I have been clocking out OOW after doing the usual protocol any time there isn't work and had no issues with that with my old TSM. New TSM said that I only clock out OOW if I am quitting for the day and have no work. She told me checking in during my regular scheduled shift when OOW is "flexing" and so I don't clock out OOW. Correct me if i'm wrong, but when you clock out OOW ...

Time Clock
May 22, 2012

The requirement for ICs to use a time clock is apparently to protect the service from being sued for unpaid labor, right? If you sign in honestly, i.e. whenever you are doing anything for this job with the service, tech tweaking, software installation, training, spreadsheets, research, phone calls, etc., etc., etc., it would put you into overtime and you are fired, right? I'm just curious if anyone is given written instructions to sign in ONLY when your fingers will be pounding the ke ...
