These words are found in pretty much any journal article dealing with orbit fractures:
hypophthalmos - displacement of globe inferiorly
enophthalmos - displacement of globe posteriorly
hyperophthalmos - displacement of globe superiorly
exophthalmos - displacement of globe anteriorly
(Stedman's does not list words with all of their possible prefixes)
Here's an example: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/867687-overview
Thank you so much! That is what I needed :) - Jane
I installed it and it acted like it installed successfully, but it is not working! I've tried to search my entire hard drive for the dictionary file so that I can manually add it to Word, but I'm stumped!!! I can find the folder on my C: drive that houses all the Stedman's Spellchecker files and such, but I do not know which one is the actual dictionary file.
Somebody please help me! ...

To the rest of you MTs who responded with criticism, judgment, and assumptions...stick it in your ear! One of you thought I cared what a "blessed" life you had and went on and on about it. ?? What? Didn't really fit my post, but okay...guess you gotta tell someone! Someone else, maybe the same perso ...
We need to clear some things up for new people, or those who have only done straight MT and will soon be doing VR.
VR DOES NOT require special intensive training, other than, of course, you still need to know how to be an MT.
That being said, make believe you typed a letter in your word processing program and you noticed a ton of errors when you went to proof it. You would just fix them, right? It's the same thing, only if you're using the mouse, you would need to l ...
Here is the whole sentence.

Unfortunately, I have failed to contact the IT Departments of companies on-line I have worked for transcribing medical dictation after I have left their organizations and asked them how to remove their software. How do I identify and remove any old software from these companies? They don't seem to mind their software is on my computer, but I think it is probably time to delete it. I am having trouble reaching these people as some of the companies are no longer in business ...

I am thinking of buying/downloading Stedman's Spellchecker but had a question and wondered if anyone here can help me out. They have Spellchecker Plus for $99.95 and also Spellchecker Plus for $39.95. It looks as though the latter might be an update, but the descriptions are basically the same. Does anyone know if you need the $99.95 one first or will the $39.95 one do the job? I appreciate any feedback! ...
I'm looking to purchase Stedman's Electronic Medical Spellchecker and came across the 2011 version, new in shrinkwrap, for an unbelievable price on Amazon. The description says:
Stedman's Medical/pharmaceutical Spellchecker 2011 Starter KIT Version 2.0 on Cd-rom for Windows (CD-ROM)
The phrase "Starter Kit" has me a bit confused though and even though I google'd and read the descriptions, I'm having trouble discerning if this some abbreviated version of Stedman ...

I am trying to install Stedman's Medical Spellchecker Plus 2007 on my computer. It gives you a choice of which word processor you want to use it with. Mine is Microsoft Word 2007. It does not give an option to choose Microsoft Word 2007.
Am I out of luck? Do I choose the closest word processor to what I have (Microsoft Word 2003?) ...
wondering about how stable stedman's smarttype is for everyone else. I have used the program for years, but noticed recently odd things happening. Has anyone else had unexpected things happen with smartype and word 2007. What could I replace it with that would be its equal? Call the programmers consortium who made the program originally, but no one knows anything. Could use some light shed on the subject.

Hi, I am getting a new computer tonight and need to know if any of you are using Win 7 Home Premium with your Stedman's software? It says at Microsoft that to use older XP programs we need to have Win 7 Professional, but if I can use Win 7 Home Premium and save myself $100 I'd rather do that! Also I wonder if my Instant Text Pro will work with Win 7 Home Premium too, anyone know? Thanks! ...
HELP! MS Word is not recognizing Stedmans as my spell checker, so all med words are red underlined. I tried restoring my computer to prior week, and tried using an old version of normal.dot Any help would be greatly appreciated! I use Smartype and that is fine, it's just my spell checker. It has apparently reverted to the spell checker that comes standard with Word. I have been using this computer and this setup f ...
My computer has in its programs section Stedman's and a drug index. The amount of memory taken up is sizeable, so I'm assuming the entire electronic book is contained in the file.
I'm certainly no computer genius and am afraid to attempt to open and launch these without knowing what steps to take.
Does anyone know how I would go about opening the file, creating a desktop shortcut and launching them? I'd love to be able to use them...if I could get to ...

I am trying a 30 day free version of Smartype. I used Stedman's in the past and loved it and now they have a new version of it. Does anyone use this? I always had this through work, and now I need to buy my own. Are you allowed to borrow, or people share a license? I don't know how this works, I've never done it.
Is there another program similar to it, maybe a bit less in price?
I definitely do NOT want to spend $100 on it, let alone have to pay to renew any licensing or get upgrades every year. I'd really like to buy it once and be done with it, is that possible?
What happens if you ...
I have used Shorthand 10 for several years and have never had as big a problem with expanding until I started using escription. I work on v. 9, 10 and 11 and am seeing errors that are clearly expander related that I absolutely do not see or catch when I am in the reports. I am to the point of starting from scratch on my Shorthand as it has so many entries that it would be easier just to start over. What I am wondering is what settings those of you who also use Shorthand have on ...
Hello what do you all use for expanders? I need something that I do not have to memorize abbreviations (I am losing my mind as it is lol), something that will give me choices that I can actually see, something that has its own base of medical/nonmedical words to choose from. Is there anything like that?
THANKS!!!!!!!!! ...
