Question about Stedman and Drug Book - Curious

Posted: Jul 16, 2010

My computer has in its programs section Stedman's and a drug index.  The amount of memory taken up is sizeable, so I'm assuming the entire electronic book is contained in the file.

I'm certainly no computer genius and am afraid to attempt to open and launch these without knowing what steps to take.

Does anyone know how I would go about opening the file, creating a desktop shortcut and launching them?  I'd love to be able to use them...if I could get to them, LOL!

Which operating system are you on? Also, when they were installed - they usually create their own desktop icon. nm

This is how I would do it. Others may have the own, 'better' way of doing it, but this is the one that works for me.

Hit the Windows button and select 'all programs'. Use the cursor to scroll through the list until Stedman's is highlighted. If it has a > type arrow to the right of it, scroll over that until it expands (like maybe to Stedmans help, Stedmans start, Stedman' Delete).

Choose which one starts the program. It may be process of elimination (it's not help and it's not delete). Right click on the start one and you should get a list of options, including create shortcut. That will make a shortcut icon on the desktop for clicking when you want.

Do the same thing with the whatever the drug program is called. It sounds complicated but once you do it the first time, you'll know what you're seeing and it will make sense.

Good luck.

I have used the Quick Look Drug book (electronic version) for years made by LWW (Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins) and each year they notify me when the new year's version is available - now turns out, since I did not get notification of the 2014 version the company is not taking that book any more, regular or electronic. Mar 01, 2013
