It says at Microsoft that to use older XP programs we need to have Win 7 Professional, but if I can use Win 7 Home Premium and save myself $100 I'd rather do that! I tried loading my Stedmans Smartype on my new Windows 7 computer. It won't read it even with the addition of Windows 7 Pro which is supposed to read 32 bit programs. I installed it and it acted like it installed successfully, but it is not working! I've tried to search my entire hard drive for the dictionary file so that I can manually add it to Word, but I'm stumped!!! I can find the folder on my C: drive that houses all the Stedman's Spellchecker files and such, but I do not know which one is the actual dictionary file. Somebody please help me! ...

I almost got caught just now, dictated as BPH, expanded BY THE SPEECH ENGINE to benign prostatic hypertrophy. Guess what happens when they catch that? I would get marked off because BPH can be either benign prostatic hypertrophy or benign prostatic hyperplasia, right? Ridiculous. I am just staring with SmarType and am having an issue whenever I use the word "he." SmarType kept replacing "he" with "her," so I deleted "her" from the auto-option. I thought that would fix the issue, but now it's replacing "he" with "heart," which is now the first auto-option word beginning with "h-e." I've used the ShortCut expansion program for 13 years so I'd hate to have to change now, but I'm having a problem with my expansions popping out ever since I installed Word 2010. They actually come out in slow motion, so slowly that I have a paragraph typed and only two or so words will be expanded. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I got 0.25 taken off for the dictator having dictated "temp" and the report having "temperature." Had I typed it from scratch I would have typed temp, but the ISR did it and it said "temperature," so I did not change it. Are we actually supposed to shorten the expansions perpetrated by the ISR? I downloaded the new version of Smartype, and I need to figure out how you get something not to expand like say if you type pm and it expands it but you don't want it to. The older version you could type the word and press the shift key while pressing the spacebar and it would not expand, but it does not work that way on this version.
