Posted: Dec 23, 2014
Hi, has anyone ever had problems with Escription when you are editing leaving black marked out lines when you backspace or use the delete button in the text?
no but I have seen it reverting my changes, have seen - jodi

it randomly make a word first-letter capped, have had the voice files with missing words. Oh yea. Great for one's reputation.
Does anybody know which column companies look at to decide if you are meeting the minimum 250 requirement in Escription? When I look at the metrics there are 2 columns...median lines per hour and average lines per hour. ...
Anyone know where I can find instructions on editing escription type VR. No one really gave me any at my office and I am not sure I am doing it exactly right or how to do some shortcuts or whatever so that I can make some speed. TIA ...
Does any one have any requirements for editing for an 8-hr shift? I know for straight typing is usually required to type 1200-1500. Thanks in advance. ...
For those of you thinking of going with FN out of California, when you get your employment package, you will find that 2 lines of work equals 1 line of editing--in other words, you must do twice as much work to get paid for a line of editing. Of course, you do not find that out until you have invested time and interest with this place. ...
What are your computer specs?
DH brought up a good question tonight. I have recently moved from my old faithful with 80 MB hard drive with 512 memory to 380 GB hard drive with 3 MB memory. i have had nothing but problems with Escription and not making my lines. I can't just use the shortcut keys and I can't use my expander. DH stated maybe I don't have what I need in the computer to make things work correctly (this coming from someone who never touched one in his life!).&nbs ...
Have not done VR since I worked for the M. Is the above platform easy to use because you would have to be flying through reports at today's going pay rates. ...
Sorry QC was put on the grid and suffering losses (like we have), but from my point of view the more of them leave, the more work left for us. Isn't that horrible we are reduced to feeling that way about our co-workers???
Some QC say they are not allowed to do MT unless the account is behind, some say they are allowed when they run out of work. From the length of time we have been suffering from OOW I have to believe they can and do jump in on our work when out of QC ...
Anyone ever typed a black sponge in surgery? I listened for "lap" and "lac" but I really hear "black."
Context: "We took another rim of skin about a centimeter wider inferiorly until it bled well, as well. This was controlled with electrocautery. The area was then pulse-irrigated. A medium size black sponge was placed over top of this. The more tangential excision was covered with a wound VAC, sponge that had been tangentially shaven in half, and the entire area activated after ...
Tried to submit a PDO a month in advance and got the screen showing dates blacked out. I know it is summer, but give it a break.
I really, really need/want this day off. Now do I try to negotiate with my manager or do I feel a fever coming on? ...
Tried to take off much needed time for personal issues that suddenly arose and happened to include Halloween. Was denied because it's a "black-out" day! WTH?!! I don't celebrate Halloween but I do have much needed things that need attention and can't possibly put off because of this miserable minimum wage POS job. Taking it off anyway. Guess I'll get "sick" instead. How I would love to walk into the TSM office and give her the finger. ...
if you make 4 cents per line at 1000 lines a day, they really calculate it at 500 lines per day x 4 cents, making it really 2 cents per line for the full 1000.
I heard this, and I am really interested in knowing if it is true. ...
My main account was a good one, and the lines were very good, mostly ER work. I have been on this account for over a year and a half now. We recently received an e-mail stating that Nuance had discovered that the line count was charging incorrectly, as instituted by them, and they had been crediting us with MORE lines than we were actually doing and overcharging the client.
Now get this, they informed us that they would not make US pay it back, for their mistake, but that our new lines would re ...
When did this start to happen?? By my calculations, you stand to lose 20-30% of your income. If you have to type a space, why wouldn't you expect to be paid for it??? For me, VBC stands for "victim by choice," which I refuse to be. ...
Exactly what does that end up being translated into a usual 65 character line with spaces? I'm feeling like I need a math degree to figure out what I'm going to get paid lately. ...
Doctor has a patient with a black tongue secondary to medication. He gives her a prescritpion for what s/l "mycolatrocious" to apply q.i.d. to the tongue.
I rarely have a med I can't find but this one has me stumped! Any suggestions?? ...
I am seeing some companies pay based on VBC but the line counts vary greatly. Does anyone get paid this way and what is considered decent. I have seen 5cpl for 43 character lines but have also seen 7 cpl for a 65 character line. Help! ...
What do you do when you have the required hours but are short lines?
I got an email that I need to "make plans to have my shortage made up." The only problem is that I'm up to date with my hours for the pay period so far. The other problem is that I have plans Saturday night and Sunday (both being my scheduled time off) that don't include TransTech.
It's getting harder and harder to defend this company when they can't hold up their end of the agreement and continually ...
Independent Contractor Defined
People such as doctors, dentists, veterinarians, lawyers, accountants, contractors, subcontractors, public stenographers, or auctioneers who are in an independent trade, business, or profession in which they offer their services to the general public are generally independent contractors. However, whether these people are independent contractors or employees depends on the facts in each case. The general rule is that an individu ...
I have worked for 20+ years with two companies and had good reviews and made good money. No problems with meeting production. Left one of the big 2 companies last January after pay cuts, nothing nasty, I just kindly and sincerely expressed my opinion why I was leaving. Since then I've applied with 3 or 4 other companies, was told by one I was on *do not hire list*, but was never given a reason why.
Is there something I can do here? I'm a good employee and ...
Just as an experiment...With Saince I typed about 12-13 reports, typed one that was 18 minutes long in the midst of the others. It equaled a little over 400 lines (it was under 420).
Now, with a job that pays for spaces, I typed one report 12 min long - 126 lines. Typing 10 reports, I hit 424 lines.
The Saince reports were standard type, most 1-1/2 to 2 pages long...ONLY 400 lines??? Most of the ones I just did this morning for another company were mostly 1 page long, VR, dis ...
There are probably only a few people who have used this system. Hopefully, they come onto this board and have used IT with Cerner/RDE (black screen).
When I maximize my RDE screen (black), the font is perfect. However, when I attach my word expander (Instant Text) to it, the screen minimizes and the font goes from perfect to just barely visible.
Anyone out there using Cerner RDE and IT together who can help me?
Thank you, comrades :) ...
I just started Instant Text with Smartype added. Now I have a black box at the top the screen (in Word 2007) with what apparently is part of the smart line in it (it lists the 1,2,3 etc). Does anyone know how to get that to go to the bottom of the screen under the smart line. I've already tried smart line preferences and that did not help. ...
