eScription EditScript 9 alt L function - kaye

I must hit alt L 20 times a day instead of alt K. Seems like I do it when I'm in front of a word like "in" or "the" - you know, something that is in a document 1000 times.... I usually do alt z to undo it, but once that is done, the red box no longer works until it gets to the last occurrence of the word alt z corrected.

How do I disable the alt L function? Is there a line to remove from a macro?

Doing that will override the EditScript command. Either use it for something else you want it to do, or as I do for some like that which only hamper me, make it do right-arrow then left-arrow, e.g., so essentially nothing happens.

The problem with "disabling" Alt L, though, is that you will then have to use your mouse for any functions that use CanceL, such as in Pend notes or when in the physician database or making a cc. You may find the trade-off well worth avoiding the hassle accidentally hitting Alt L causes when editing, however. I know I did (until I remapped practically all of their commands, so now my Alt K is Ctrl K, etc., and I don't run into the Alt L issue anymore and so put it back).

I know macro hot keys that I had set up in Word before I started using EditScript would no longer work in EditScript. So I just assumed EditScript "rules" before anything else. From what you are saying, that is not so. I'll have to try that.

How do you remap commands in escription? - sckg

I cannot seem to do this right. Also, do you make these changes when you are in escription or with only your own personal Word open w/o escription.

I finally figured out how to change the shortcut keys. You find the instructions in eScription. Click Help at the end of the blue EditScript toolbar. Select EditScript MT Help. Do a search for "Reassigning shortcut keys."

This is what you will find:
Reassigning shortcut keys
The default shortcut key combinations that are assigned to features in the EditScript Toolbar (see the tables earlier in this segment) can be quickly re-assigned using the EditScript MT Shortcut Migration Tool that is installed with EditScript MT. To use this utility to change a shortcut assignment, follow the steps below.

NOTE: All applications that use MicrosoftÂ® Word must be closed before the Shortcut Migration Tool can be used. This includes EditScript MT.

Steps:

From the Windows Start menu, click Programs.

Find and click on the eScription programs folder to expand its contents.

Select EditScript MT Shortcut Migration Tool from the fly-out menu.

The EditScript MT Shortcut Assigner dialog appears.

To change an existing shortcut assignment, click the Change Shortcuts button. To import a saved list of shortcuts, click the Import Saved Shortcuts button. The Import Saved Shortcuts button is only used when you have upgraded to a new version of EditScript MT and have a saved list of shortcut assignments from a previous version to import. Otherwise, this option is disabled.

I was assigned to a third account years ago that was escription. My primary is a totally different platform. As I didn't get to my third account very often, I eventually stopped going there altogther as I wasn't retaining the platform very well. I just started an account using EditScript today and I can't seem to get my Sylvan ShortCut program to work with it. It works sometimes and not others and very slowly, showing one letter at a time. I already tried excluding it from my Avast antivirus (I think I did it right) and it seemed better for a minute and then right back to the same thing. Does anyone know if there is any difference in EditScript MT 9 and EditScript MT 9.12? If there is, how can we update this? Have you ever used the break function simply because you had a dictator that was so horrible that you got frustrated and sent it back? I know that we are not supposed to do this and that MQ supposedly keeps track of how many breaks we use but I have to admit I have done this no occasion. For *pain* scale (1-10), i was taught to add the range if not dictated. Example: D: Pain was a 5. T: Pain was a 5/10. I'm not familiar with *function* scale. This is a spine surgeon. This particular patient is having neck and shoulder issues (if that matters). Is there a specific *function* scale?
