those the best VR programs, or is there a better one out there? Which companies use this program? TIA!
eScription is the company, EditScript is the software - Jay

eScription is the name of the company that created/sells EditScript.
escription/editscript - thinking about it

I know Focus/Nuance uses edit script, in fact, they now own escription. I've heard really good things about this as far as voice recognition software is concerned.
Unless I am missing it, not seeing the patient's age already calculated is a major flaw. That and I miss being able to see the amount of reports lined up. Otherwise, I think it will be better overall. I definitely am not going to miss those darn header keys. Of course, now I have to go through a bunch of shorthand entries and fix them. ...
After 40 years on the job and getting tired of typing, when out of a job this last time (there have been so many times of late because of ...well most of you already know how goes it with our profession), I decided to just go for what seems to be taking over transcription anyway.
Thanks to this board and all the talk about the different platforms, I took a job with a company that uses EditScript, and I am thrilled. In those 40 years, I have had to do a lot of proofreading as a super ...
I posted this on the company board but this might be a better place...I work at FocusInfomatics...QC..just started not that long ago. Many years of experience with editing, QA, MT, etc. I'm new to VR. I would love to hear what to expect for production as right now...it's not so good. I understand variables, etc. My work load is very low right now but that is supposedly going to change soon. With QCing everything to sound, can someone tell me what they ...
I am starting a new job that uses Escription and Editscript. I use Shorthand as an expander and Spellex as my medical dictionary. Does anyone know if these will function correctly in those programs? Thanks! ...
Does anyone know if EditScript can be run using VMware? I hate using 2 different computers to work and I would love, love to be able to install a virtual copy of Windows 7 or XP on my Vista computer. I did some online research and found an article back in 2009 that said it does NOT, but was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience?? TIA. ...
I must hit alt L 20 times a day instead of alt K. Seems like I do it when I'm in front of a word like "in" or "the" - you know, something that is in a document 1000 times.... I usually do alt z to undo it, but once that is done, the red box no longer works until it gets to the last occurrence of the word alt z corrected.
How do I disable the alt L function? Is there a line to remove from a macro? ...
I was assigned to a third account years ago that was escription. My primary is a totally different platform. As I didn't get to my third account very often, I eventually stopped going there altogther as I wasn't retaining the platform very well.
My question: Isn't the abbreviation/macro system within escription in Word? What is it called and does anyone know how I can look for that file on my computer to take with me to new job?
Thanks ...
I just started an account using EditScript today and I can't seem to get my Sylvan ShortCut program to work with it. It works sometimes and not others and very slowly, showing one letter at a time. I already tried excluding it from my Avast antivirus (I think I did it right) and it seemed better for a minute and then right back to the same thing. I ended up closing it and working without it, but I can't do that all the time or my production will suck. Has anyone ...
Most of you know who I work for (Acusis). I've never really paid much attention to lines on my timesheet cause I had always reached my daily goal in ES. I do work 10 pm to 2 am so I realize my count may overlap into the next day. However, I 'really' noticed for this past pay period, that the timesheet counts(which are uploaded by my supervisor which she gets from the client) were off from what ES had(I logged in and checked each day for the past pay period) to th ...
Does anyone know if there is any difference in EditScript MT 9 and EditScript MT 9.12? If there is, how can we update this?
It seems that my new place of employments line counting is not the same as my old place of employment. New employer has EditScript 9, while my old work had EditScript 9.12, and my line count was much more at my previous employer. Now it seems I can put out tons of work and see not much for lines... Very frustrating.
When questioning my employer now, they say t ...
Just one more thought. I have never, ever, known anyone who has left Medquist or Spheris and regretted it. They may bounce back and forth just to get by, but in the long run, when they are finally finished, they are finished. For all of those MTs who don't want to start over, please don't take that attitude. I did and it only got worse and when I did change it wasn't that bad at all. Again, could it get any worse? ...
Not that I'm not glad it was an increase rather than a pay cut, but I think for a lot of us this "raise" is going to just even us out for when he start getting docked pay April 1. Funny that this "raise" is starting April 1, isn't it? ...
Now I know I did the right thing in not only leaving the Q but leaving the field altogether. I had another physical last week and my blood pressure was back down to 120/70, and my doctor was very happy when he learned I had quit.
They wasted no time in sending me labels to ship the computer back, though. Oh well.. they don't want the monitor, or mouse, or keyboard, so I'm keeping those! ...
I clicked on each of the highlighted areas in the e-mail, but where do you go to set this up?
I must be needing more coffee or something. I just dont get it. Read it 3 times now. ...
If this dictator says, "peeeeeeeeeeeeriod" one more flippin time, I am going to scream as loud as I possibly can and then punch the daylights out of this monitor! ...
Urine welkenton? Not sure of spelling, since I'm not sure it's really a word. They could also be saying welkington. That's what the dictation sounds like and I've listened to it several times on numerous days. Can't find a reference to it anywhere and I've tried many variations. Wondering if it's a really old term or if I'm completely misunderstanding.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! ...
I do believe now that they are starting to target those of us who were making 10/6. In the past, on my old accounts, I was audited no more than once a month. If I failed an occasional audit, they would wait another month to see how I did on that one and since I always passed, no action was taken. There was also no action after I took more than the allowable time off. Then, at the beginning of November, I was moved to another BOB. After being on the account for less ...
I just can't stick it out 2 weeks :( Every job I type just stresses me out more and more. I am to the point that I don't care if I get my 20 hours PTO I have built up. I am emailing back and forth with my TSM right now and it sounds like she is reading off a script! "Take each report as they come and try to do your best to prevent errors" No $%^& lady!! Does she think we don't know that????? ARRRGGH I am so beyond frustrate ...
Just had a doctor dictate "potassium 40 mg," (should have been mEq) and then further down, "Levemir 40 mg" (should have been units). If I had not left blanks for them, that would have been 6 points off. It also compelled me to use my allotment of blanks for that report!
But they, of course, do not get penalized for their mistakes. On the other hand, our pay is docked. There is a double standard here that needs to be changed. ...
The sentence is ...
The ---- was normal to slightly below average. It sounds like wetzler...i did research but I can't find the correct way to spell it..

The university down the street will be offering an undergraduate degree in Arabic. It is one of only 3 offer in this country. Now THAT ought to be useful. Sometimes, if you already have an undergraduate degree, they let you skip the basics and finish in 2 yrs. I would certainly consider that, especially since there appears to be no end in sight to our troubles with Arab-speaking countries. ...
that I have had in a dictation, and I am sure that the dictator (PA-C) is annoyed as well. It's always annoying when she chitty-chats with the "girls in the office" while dictating, but in this dictation, one of the girls is mocking back everything the dictator says and continues to do so, after a little chuckle from dictator each time, to the point where the dictator finally has to tell her that this is important, it is for an attorney and she cannot mess it up. ...
