Why can't I open documed file? - frustrated

Wondering why I can't open the file....I've tried in express scribe and media player and even looking for the codec online that I supposedly am missing and still no luck. Does anyone know if there is a way to contact them about this?

Is it a dss file? And do you have express scribe downloaded. I was able to open them, if this is the same Documed, with express scribe.

no its a wave file for thier recent poste in the job opening section..I cant' open in - frustrated

express scribe or any other player that I have on my computer...just says I need a codec for which I cannot find online

People are still having that issue with opening files from Documed. I gave up on the whole application process due to this.

Well very strange. Both of these opened up on my computer with Windows XP, one as a wav file, the pulmonary one, the other ortho one shows as a dss, express scribe file. The wav file opens in express scribe and in my windows media player on XP. But on my husband's laptop Windows 7 the wav file would not open. This is very strange.

I will have to investigate that one as if I get a new computer with Windows 7, would want these to work on them.

this says to use realplayer in vista, weird

do not like that one for transcribing
we need express scribe to do those tests

maybe this is why so many companies say you need Windows XP? Huh

Has anyone ever tried (successfully) to open an .esp file with any other software? If so, I'd love to know how to open one. I need to be sure I am able to utilize it when I leave! Oh, and I do know that I can print it out, but geeeez, after 6+ years, think of the paper and the re-creation of all of it that would be required! I recently downloaded Express Scribe from my community college's website. After downloading, I tried to open up the syllabus for a particular course and a warning came up that I had to have another type of program for this action. I think the program was Doxillion which I am assuming is some type of file converter. I don't need a file converter program. Does anyone know how to convert wma file to DSS file? I am using Express Scribe but, for some unknown reason, the sound quality is very poor. I keep seeing the same ad for neurology/orthopedics for Documed. It disappears for a few weeks and then it comes back again. I took the neurology test (I have 13 years of experience in that specialty) but still do not hear anything. Yet, the ad keeps reappearing on a regular basis. Something seems wrong here. ...

I have read the archives, and there is either really good or really bad. Would like to know what the current situation is with them. Anyone hear any rumblings yet about Open Enrollment? Last year at this time we were already sent emails to "get ready" for it...so far this year, nothing. I heard that other companies were making the spousal/partner "penalty" for not taking insurance was going to go up to $500! We are now paying $100/month...let's hope that won't be the case, as that would essentially be one of my paychecks. Wonder what surprises are in store for us. Maybe we won' ...

You all have it reversed for VR. Those of us that do the VR editing should be paid the hourly wage, not the QA people! We take this abysmal voice that comes in, turn it into something that can be understood, and is perfectlly fine for the patient's chart, but then you want QA to get a hold of it, pay them $12-15 an hour to make is a pretty report, hey who's doing all the work here! I want to be paid $12 to 15 an hour to fill in the blanks, put in commas, periods ...
