Documed test - can't control the speed / volume of file - DT

It is so ridiculous when these companies test you on these players where you can't control the speed or the volume especially when the sound clarity is poor intentionally.

The sound quality is horrendous. I thought it was just me. Thanks for making me know I am not completely losing it. I am close though. lol

who gives the applying MT such pure garbage, and I have done TONS of ortho since graduation in 1982. Ridiculous, I tried loading the voice file into my ExpressScribe to try to enhance the audio, but could not do it...ridiculous!

You can save the file and play in whatever player you wish. - I played it using Express Scribe. nm

also hate to tell you that if this is the ortho account I think it is, it isn't just the test that is of poor quality...that's the way the whole account is. bad dictator, bad account, miserable quality. They cannot keep anyone on that account for long due to that.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm at the point now that I just listen to the transcription test first instead of wasting my time transcribing them. Inscribe had all ESLs on their test so I can only assume they have a ton of ESL doctors so why bother testing if I'm trying to avoid being stuck in another bad situation. I remember testing with Documed a few years back and their audio quality was terrible then so apparently nothing has changed with them.

I have a Boostaroo and it muffles the audio when I turn it up on my headset. Some of these dictators go back and forth in volume and I have caught several mistakes I made on deciding what I hear. I need some help/opinions. I think I transcribe fairly fast, i.e., lines per hour. I have been looking to get out of MT and into something related and have been given a typing test (in person) on a couple of occasions. The problem is that I stink at typing from written copy as opposed to from hearing it via dictation. My brain just isn't wired to pass these tests :( ...

This dictation is giving me a workout. Anyone hear of a "king (s/l) debic test" for ocular motor control? Is it king debit test? I can't seem to find much in Google. Any help would be great appreciated. This is over a 22 minute dictation but at least I'm getting quite an eductation here. I usually get only 75-120 second dictations and it sure is nice to stick to one for such a long period of time, especially with such a clear dictator. ...

Can anyone offer a suggestion? Recently, I am unable to hear the dictation on some reports. I have the volume all the way turned up, by using Ctrl +, and still cannot hear some reports clearly. Makes work a little more difficult. After turning it all the way up, the next report will blast my ears out. Too funny. TIA. ...

It looks like I'm not alone judging by the posts I just read but have to vent anyway. Anyone else think QC is out of control? The minor things they are editing for defeats the whole purpose of having eScription. There are dictators I've done for years that I used to breeze right thru and now I find myself micromanaging every chart, to make sure every pause has a comma or period.
