It doesn't appear that Faye from the above company is really serious about looking to hire a part-time ophthalmology MT. Just my opinion...

I have ophthalmology terminology experience as well, and I tested for this job several weeks ago. The doctors were not easy to understand as they were ESL. Even though I was forced to leave a couple of blanks, she informed me that I tested rather well, but that she was unable to hire me at that time. I didn't want to leave blanks, but I figured it was better than guessing. What exactly is she looking for? Oh well...

disorganized and there was just something that I could not quite put my finger on. When I called the "office," it was as if I were calling overseas and I had an extremely difficult time both hearing and understanding the person that I would talk to. I do not think that I ever actually spoke with Faye on the phone, just email communication and she was always nice but again, there was just something that was strange. I almost felt as if I were working for an overseas company that was trying to hide the fact that they were overseas.

In addition to that, while I realize it was an IC position, I had a couple of problems with their software and instead of someone within the company helping me, I had to contact the software company and deal with their engineers. There were loads of account specifics for the accounts that I was on, plus lots of demographics that had to be entered, there were NUMEROUS doctors on my main account and it was just a really confusing program (cannot remember now the name) to use.

Again, it was just a really, really strange experience and I felt that I was not working for a "true" American company, but I hope that I was wrong.

Does anyone know anything about Transcriptions Express? In researching them I found 3 complaints on the Rip Off Report about them. They, evidently, charge for early termination, is this standard? They also charge for equipment if you don't have any. I think this is just a way for some companies to increase their bottom line. It sounds like these were just disgruntled ex-employees.
