Quick Look Drug book or Saunders Pharmaceutical? - Sunshine State MT

Posted: Apr 20, 2010

I need to upgrade by drug book.  Which do you guys use if any?

I used to use the Quick Look but over the last couple of years have been going with Saunders Pharmaceutical.

Just wondering . . .

Quick Look vs Saunders Pharm - mt4years

I use both as I have found Quick Look is really good but occasionally does not have a listing that I need, which I always find in Saunders.

NPPR or Drugs.Com - mt3

I really like the Nurse Practitioners' Prescribing Reference, a quarterly you can subscribe to. I also use Drugs.Com all the time.

I always use Saunders (nm) - Long time MT

QuickLook software stinks - sm - anonymous

I had QuickLook on my previous computer that died. The program wouldn't install on my new computer, and the LWW tech support is terrible. They have too many glitches in registration or installation. I've read reviews on Amazon and Abe Books that say the same thing, so it's not an isolated problem.

I love drugs.com, especially their phonetic search.

I'd have to agree with you on the software. I had it installed on old computer and it stunk. I never could find some of the features that the book has, so I quit using it and went back to the QuickLook book.

I use online for the past 5 years - jm0405

I quit updating books and started using online web pages for everything. Lexicon has a great medical dictionary, abbreviation, drug reference. It's quicker to insert s/l drug name and/or "cancer drugs" in Google and use what comes up. It's always current online....and free.... :)

DOSAGE IS MY PROBLEM - yochana

I previously used company owned QuickLook and lost it when changing companies so have been using drugs.com, but I have problems finding drug dosages "fast." I love the wildcard and phonetic searches on drugs.com but bog down when searching for doses. Any suggestions?

Rxlist.com is a good reference for dosage.nm - Allysgrandma

Question About Stedman And Drug Book

What Kind Of Electronic Drug Book Are You Using?
Jul 24, 2014

I have used the Quick Look Drug book (electronic version) for years made by LWW (Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins) and each year they notify me when the new year's version is available - now turns out, since I did not get notification of the 2014 version the company is not taking that book any more, regular or electronic. This was a Stedmans version that worked with the ReadyReferenceBookShelf process where all words books, electronic, are connected - when I asked about a replacement LWW sa ...

Why Are They So Quick To Dock Our Pay?
May 30, 2015

Why do they make such a big deal out of an error, including sending e-mails saying "ERROR ALERT" or making a 3-point error a "critical patient safety error," then docking your pay for same, but if you go back to look at the document or to listen to it again, which you can in Escription, they have NEVER CORRECTED THE ERROR??? I don't think they are that concerned about errors, other than to dock our pay and to shame us. If they were, they would correct the error in the original documen ...

I Just Wanted To Take A Quick Minute To Say I Really

An hour or two ago, I had a word question and put it on the word board and within a matter of five minutes, someone posted the answer.  I know we all have our own opinions and experiences but I am an MT with 20 plus years of experience and my mind just went blank on this word.  Well, I was glad this fellow MT helped me out, so I did not have to send this to QA.  I looked up the word again myself just to be certain not that I doubted this other MT and then I took a minute to thank ...
