I have noticed all these companies now are paying about 7cpl or 7.5 cpl and 3/3.5 for VR. I remember 12 years ago when I first started 7cpl was starting pay for right out of school. I eventually went up to almost 9cpl before transition to Nuance. Of course the pay went down after that and now once again. Back then 9-10cpl was seen and with MTs who had been doing it a while. Are these ads I see for 7cpl just for no experience? I see TTS does that. What if you have a lot of experience. I was making 4.63 cpl with N for VR. Before being with N, I had almost 5. Now its 3?! 3.5?! at these companies that are hiring and still on a cpl pay scale? Why is the pay going so low? I'm thinking that had to do with N making this recent pay change as well. Why pay 8-9 cpl or 5 for VR when most companies now pay 7?! This is crazy to me. Also- what is up with 2nd and 3rd shift being the only shifts companies are hiring for?!?!?! Do they not need anyone in the day anymore?! I only work days/afternoons. I am having such a hard time looking for another job. I feel it's hopeless. If I do find one and am offered just 7 cpl, why even bother changing?!?!?! So discouraging! Usually people work and over the years make more and more and then top out somewhere. In this industry i'm seeing it done backwards. :(
