I received one too...on top of another email specific to my region group asking me to change my workweek schedule.

I've only had this job for ten months and have already racked up two verbal and one written CAs. Now, they are asking me to change my hours AND days?

I will be lucky if I just have this job when Valentine's Day rolls around...

I got a reminder email yesterday as well. Apparently I incorrectly assumed that if I could not change my hours/days I didn't need to respond. Silly me. Anyway, I told her that I was not able to change because my off work schedule depended upon the schedule I was currently working...sorry I can't help you. I get an email back that she is going to try to table the issue for now but she might need to make a mandate in the future. Excuse me? Why was this directed at me? I don't think the success of our POD or the of MModal itself depends on whether or not I can start work and hour or 2 later. I was hired to work at a specific time. It was not my idea to upset the proverbial apple cart and create this POD mess. I have already been inconvenienced enough having to learn other accounts because of it. I will not upset my family further and other income further (as I have to look outside MModal to make extra $$) because of their ineptitudes.

Whew! Vent over. Now to try and restore the ounce of Christmas spirit was beginning to get...Merry Christmas to all of my fellow MTs.

Received email stating that they were going over all accounts and seeing which ones ran out of work and which ones had too much work and were going to be asking MLS possibly to rearrange their schedule so that they would have work and not run out and that all accounts would be covered equally???? There are companies, which I know have outsourced a majority of work to India, that are seeking US MTs but only for 2nd and/or 3rd shifts. Have a question on shifts. Many of the jobs on the boards say 2nd or 3rd shift. In the MT world does that mean 3 to 11 p.m. and 11 to 7 a.m. or is it 4 p.m. to 12 and 12 to 8 a.m.? I have not had a position for a straight shift before, but split my shift at my last job to get in my 8 hours. TIA. :) ...

I have noticed all these companies now are paying about 7cpl or 7.5 cpl and 3/3.5 for VR. I remember 12 years ago when I first started 7cpl was starting pay for right out of school. I eventually went up to almost 9cpl before transition to Nuance. Of course the pay went down after that and now once again. Back then 9-10cpl was seen and with MTs who had been doing it a while. I left a message in post to another post about the Swap (swamp) Board. I had wayyy too many hours showing I had scheduled to work. I normally only work 24 hours week (48 hours pay period or maybe 54 at the most). Mine said 66.50 hours scheduled to work. I don't recall asking to pick up that many hours here and there.
