Seriously - 7cpl as an IC? - mt_not_for_long

How sad these companies pay so little.  This one in particular wants 5 years of experience, but pays 7 cpl.  I am so glad my time is about up with this crap.   With my 26 years of experience, I should be making a comfortable wage, NOT going backwards.

yup, 7 cpl - holy cow batman

That is what NEMT offered me for IC.

By the time you pay your own taxes it is about 5 cents a line - nm

I'm seriously sick of this ugh they only pay this much? Just because of the line rate, doesn't mean you can't make good money. If they are interested in you, take the job, and see what kind of work it is. If the doctors are horrid and you can't understand them, then obviously 7 cpl is not worth your time. However, if it happens to be a super easy doctor where your hands can fly, you can make some serious money with 7 cpl on an hourly basis. Try it before you knock it! I've easily made $25+ an hour on 6 cpl so don't rule it out until you've at least attempted to see what the work consists of!!

400 lines a day at an adjusted rate of 5 cents a line equals - $20 a day, sm

Even if the work available increased to 1200 lines a day, that would only be $60.

yes it does if.... - MT

you work for a national with horrible doctors that you only get 1200 lines a day! A lot of people on here get 300 to 400 lines an hour which equates to $20 an hour even at 5 cpl so how is that horrible? Try out the job before knocking the cpl!! Maybe they pay that much because the work is easy and you will make a ton of money! I know I do!

What's Up With 7cpl And 2nd And 3rd Shifts?!

I have noticed all these companies now are paying about 7cpl or 7.5 cpl and 3/3.5 for VR. I remember 12 years ago when I first started 7cpl was starting pay for right out of school. I eventually went up to almost 9cpl before transition to Nuance. Of course the pay went down after that and now once again. Back then 9-10cpl was seen and with MTs who had been doing it a while. Are these ads I see for 7cpl just for no experience? I see TTS does that. What if you have a lot of experience. I was makin ...
