My last week of notice, and work is so far behind it is incredible. Wondering if everyone else on my team quit. I feel bad for the patient, not for this company. SMH.

Amazing thing is that Nuance treated me so bad, that I look forward to giving Precyse my best.

I have looked into Precyse. Has anyone who has left a job for Precyse liked it better? I'm so over Nuance.

I know...it's hard. Like you I worried and worried and worried more about it. Am I jumping out of the frying pan into the fire? Is it going to be better, or God forbid, WORSE? So, I hear ya!!
But, my last paycheck decided it for me. I kept tract of the hours I was working, the amount of blanks I sent in (1), and the lines that I typed on a day to day basis. I wound up making just about 2.20 an hour. I'm worth more than that after 22 years of doing this and making a good living from it at other places.
You won't know until you try. How much worse could it really be? And, if you leave Nuance on good terms, give them a 2-week notice, be courteous, don't burn that bridge, if your venture turns out to be worse, maybe you can come back...if you want to. But, at least it's YOUR choice. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I hope that I'm completely wrong about this, but personally, I've come to the conclusion that no matter WHICH transcription company I work for, things are going to continue to become worse and worse in terms of pay, benefits, and working conditions (badgering, threats, FIESA, and the like). We have already seen it happen at Nuance this past year, and I also have 2 MT friends, both at different MT companies, and their wages have recently been dropped as well. Even if there are some good MT companies in existence, and I'm sure there must be, I have no faith that they will stay that way for much longer; I believe that in the interests of staying competitive, they too will begin to cut their people's wages and benefits... or if not, they will otherwise end up becoming "acquired" by a bigger company. I'm planning to quit Nuance and am looking for something else (ideally MT!) -- but have finally decided that if I stay an MT, the ONLY way I will continue doing this at home will be to work AS AN EMPLOYEE of a healthcare facility itself. In which case I think there will be more fairness in terms of wages, benefits, and maybe just some plain old human kindness. Just IMO

I'm with you... I'm scared to leave the frying pan for the fire, so to speak. I have thought it over and over and over, and I have decided that I'm just going to get out of medical transcription altogether. I guess you could say I've been burned too many times in this field, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
I don't know anything about Precyse, so I can't offer up anything on that, but I have read quite a few good things here on the boards lately, and Nuance has lost quite a few people to Precyse. :)
I hope you find something that makes you happy!

Get a clue about rewarding people for doing extra work when there is need. I don't hear them threatening sending the work to India (who really cares, go ahead), and I also don't hear them asking for help and offering something. Anything. Webmedx used to give us Walmart gift certificates when we did a certain amount, proper overtime, not the ridiculously crappy way Nuance calculate it so you make, wow, an extra $5 or something! Let's see you guys offer something, even the fact that maybe you will be exempt from the relentless QA/QC or whatever you call it that has been raking through every single document to find errors to try to take away our bonuses. What's in it for us? Nothing, obviously, not a thing. Now's when they become socialistic, needing us to "help out and be a team player." Gah.

I got a lot of major errors, ALL post audit, which means they are now gunning for the bonuses I think. The thing is, even though I wince when I see the errors, in my book none of them were anything that should have been major and they really did not change the content of the report. Just what the heck is their plan here anyway? I guess I will just have to slow down and proofread everything OR never check FIESA and get as many lines as possible and not be so picky. Do you get anything deducted if you do that or you just lose the bonus?
I am starting a new acct tomorrow. I sure hope I dont have to go through training. We never have been trained on the cesspool that we get, we just get new accts when our regular work is caught up, so why do we need training on a new account? That is ridiculous. I'm on accts that do not allow any blanks at all through to the cliient. ALL blanks must go to QA. I haven't ever worked on an acct that would not even allow one blank to the client. Anyhow, might not would be so bad but the dictators are TERRIBLE! Many ESLs also.
Combine no blanks allowed with terrible dictators = sending more to QA. That means docked pay if 5% or more. Oh, and don't let me forget, no samples yet. So you have to ho ...

Something is seriously wrong. I am very rarely OOW on my main acct, especially on Friday nights. Had no work in there all afternoon, now 2 reports and it looks like there are some people who are getting jobs. I was just wondering because I have worked for companies that basically encourage communication via email or IM amongst their MTs and then I have worked at companies that discourage communication with other MTs, there's only communication with your immediate supervisor and QA personnel.
I was just wondering what everyone's preference is? The companies that discourage communication tend to give reasons such as one MT might become a pest and cause others to not get their work done ...
I'm sure a lot of you work on multiple accounts. I work on 3 different accounts. Right now I have my account specifics on my desktop, but this is aggravating to me. I think it would be easier to print them and put them in a binder to have easy access to them and put each hospital in its own tabbed section. Hospital is going to M-Modal. M-Modal said they would hire the in-house MTs. But I see on the board there is not a lot of work. Hospital normally has work 24/7. I guess this will change with MM taking over, right? We will have 23 jobs cut out here. So, do I have a chance of making money with MM? I was called an IC by every company I've done transcription for. Apparently one of the main definitions by state or federal Dept of Labor is if you (the IC) make the choice of how the work is done and when the work is completed?

I got switched to another acct (not my idea) and it has 24 pages of rules and I don't get paid training pay to learn this new acct. So I went from making 450 lines per hour to 160 lines per hour so in essence, making around $6.00 an hour and the QA's gripe when you don't spend your time looking up something through the 24 pages of new acct rules.
