Why all the secrecy surrounding the new exciting - changes, Nuance? You dropped the ball
Posted: Nov 04, 2014
Why is the most important factor in this (compensation rates) such a big secret? Why the silence. Why are TSMs not allowed to discuss or explain? How can you view this as exciting? It may be exciting for those at the top as they anticipate plan for increased bonuses and more exotic vacations. I can assure you, it's not viewed as exciting to those of use actually doing the work so that you may continue to live the lives you've become accustomed to. It's just so disheartening knowing a company this large actually feels in their right to treat their employees this way and at this time of year. Why not just come out with it and see if we all feel it's as exciting as you do? Why all the secrecy?
Train newbies and wait for low holiday work - nn

All these new hires with sign on bonuses have to be trained and then the usual lull during holidays will make it easier for Nuance to handle the mass exodus when the cut our wages and increase our QA requirements to an unrealistic level with their substandard speech recognition they have us use.

Someone had a brain child of coming up with a new improved compensation plan and someone say, hey, what a good idea. We will announce this )ct 1st. That somebody wanted to use all their "learnin" from grad school and make a complex model. Then, when that model was applied to all the various platforms and complexities within the company, whoa, it was not pretty. They also just pulled dates out of...somewhere...for the implantation that really had nothing to do with the realities of dates that the company already uses (you know, the already long established pay periods). It never occurred to somebody to say, perhaps just do a percentage across the board (you know, simple). Even a COLA or 2% would be something you could say, hey, we gave you something. You likely just have some MBAs trying to come up with something new for an industry that is on the way out so that they can put that compensation plan development on their resume when they move on.
That memo was not meant for us. - funny

If I remember correctly, it started "Dear Colleagues". That memo was sent out to everyone by mistake. It was meant for the big decision makers. That plan was still being formulated. They would never admit that they "nit-pick" us. They are embarrassed that it went out and will stay quiet until they are ready to roll out their plan. That memo will probably never be mentioned. My guess is it needs to start the first pay period of the new year so that is why it would be announced on Christmas which is ridiculous unless it were actually a "gift". Fingers crossed!!!!
Question: Who manipulates with promises? - sm

Answer: Abusers.
That is so far from the truth. Believe it or not, - Nuance considers us their colleagues

It was meant to go out and they really believe this is exciting and beneficial. It's an exciting secret though. They probably just need to first calculate their upcoming vacations, bonuses, new car purchases before they through the change leftover in the can that will be our pay.
I disagree, I've been around a long...time and - elly

the stuff in that memo was not meant for our eyes. There were many new terms that they used that I have never heard before, those are terms the higher-ups use with each other. When they send us information, they do not reveal to us how they arrived at that information. How easy is to push the button and disseminate a memo to everyone by accident, it happens!!!!
Still not true. The Enrich stuff being released - each day pertains to this info.
[ In Reply To ..]
Apparently that was the first phase. In fact, if you reply to that email with the address for questions, you'll get some answers, some vague, but some specific to the email. All those "terms" are incorporated in the Enrich training that is being put out daily and is apparently what they consider the first "phase."
It shouldn't be a game of trying to get info if.... - elly

they in fact had new pay structure to release, it would be been done, none of this cat and mouse game stuff. When they announce, it will be a big thing, you will know it, we are not dealing with a mom and pop company, this is big business type stuff. When they want you to know what you will be paid in 2015, you will know it.

I DID reply to that email with questions about the terms in the letter that I didn't understand. Nothing.
Me too. I replied to that email and asked them ... sm - rt

at the very least when we would know what the new pay was. I also asked them, with open enrollment going on, how we were supposed to make informed financial decisions if we didn't even know what our pay is or is going to be. Again, nothing. I guess you are just supposed to make blind decisions. I am going to make a BIG one here in the next few days.
Good luck to all of us. My TSM says she doesn't know anything at all about the changes; I don't know if I believe her or not.
Isnt that what they did to WebMedX - a few years ago?

They knew a change was coming and yet they had to decide their insurance before the change? Seems like it was WMX, anyway.
I think we just had finished open enrollment and then sm - acuteMLS

they announced changes in the pay structure, which is just as bad because again we locked ourselves into something without the benefit of knowing changes were coming.
If TSMs are smart they will realize they are next on the - chopping block. They will then know how

all the uncertainty and lack of information feels but I believe their demise will come swiftly actually. They need to remember, no need for chiefs when there's no Indians, no pun intended.
There's nothing the TSMs can do about this. - sm

They're just doing their jobs. Before anyone accuses me of being a suit, I am not. I am an MT in the trenches with the rest of you and have been for a long time.
The non-response is even more ominous than - the "exciting changes". - s/m

I'm betting it'll be far worse than just a different pay scale. Lots of onsite places completely closed up their MT departments last year during December and January. My gut tells me it's going to happen again, only on a much larger scale. Time to get out.

Did anybody notice the phrase "PATIENT Premium Compensation Plan" throughout the memo as opposed to MLS Premium Compensation Plan"? I agree, I don'tt think it was meant for us.
Nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Attempting - to appear they care about the patient

and producing a quality document. Incorporating PATIENT into this garbage thought up is just another PR thing to boast to their customers.

MTs Sworn To Secrecy? May 18, 2014Worked for hosp. that outsourced us last summer to Nuance. Had 20 or so people accept positions with Nuance. I had contact info and used to correspond with a few of them, however, nobody will answer my emails anymore (since they started working for Nuance). What's the big secret? When you accept a position with Nuance are you not allowed to say how it's going? Give me a break. A couple people specifically asked for my email and phone number to "keep in touch" yet they ignore all commu ...
Exciting Changes Nov 04, 2014Since when do we have to initial for EVERY report that went to QC for review? How hard would it be to let us know, hey, next time you open Fiesa, you are going to get such notice and you must review all of the reports--even if they scored over 99%.....Nope, figure it out on your own.
The reason the reports go to review, many more times than not, is because it is a crappy dictator, HORRIBLE sound quality, so quiet I cannot turn up the volume anymore, or just plain did not make any sense, so show ...
Ambulatory - Exciting Changes? Oct 28, 2014Did any of you on the Ambulatory side get the e-mail this morning about the exciting new changes? What is your take on it? I, for one, am not "excited" - but more like horrified. ...
EXCITING NEWS!!! Dec 10, 2014Hey MTs who work for Nuts, In my opinion, with the system being down and Nuts hurting to get the work back to their clients, and Christmas almost here, what a GREAT TIME to say: "I have some EXCITING NEWS! Here is my resignation, effective immediately! MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Think of the impact if MTs joined this bandwagon!!! Who cares, let Nuts send the work to India. See what happens! ...
Transcend And Exciting News Mar 20, 2012Well, now I am equating "exciting" with doom and gloom. First they knocked the pegs out of under me (us) and sold the company to Nuance. Now the account that I was told would probably NEVER go to speech recognition, is doing just that. I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach. Don't know how much longer I will ride this wave. Lord come quickly. ...

Let's Face It. If New Compensation Plan Is Great And Exciting, Nov 13, 2014to announce it by now. Rather, it's end of year, they are frantically trying to hire new MLS who don't know any better and will be locked into the crappy exciting compensation plan while there is the expected stampede for the door. Can't get any lower than that. I wonder how much they paid a committee or team to think up this plan. ...
Simple Question Regarding "exciting" Changes To Wage Theft/pay Plan. Feb 28, 2015Are the latest "exciting" changes meant to help or hinder us, the MTs? ...
So, This New "exciting" Change They Are Talking About... Feb 16, 2015on the previous 2 weeks (to start Feb 28) -- so, does this mean that our March 6 paycheck will be based on the PP from Feb 14-27? Is this correct?
Who wants to take a guess on why they are doing this? I KNOW it's not the reason they give in the email--so that WE can have more time to request reversals. ...
Accounts Seeing The "exciting Changes" Dec 16, 2014I can definitely tell that the accounts I work on have had people quit as volumes are incredibly high for this time of year. In the past 3 years, the week before Christmas and until about the 2nd week of January, things are usually incredibly slow. My TSM has been sending out all those wonderful "ALL HANDS ON DECK!" e-mails!
More like, "MORE MONEY ON THE TABLE, PLEASE!"
