MTs sworn to secrecy? - Jo

Posted: May 18, 2014

Worked for hosp. that outsourced us last summer to Nuance. Had 20 or so people accept positions with Nuance. I had contact info and used to correspond with a few of them, however, nobody will answer my emails anymore (since they started working for Nuance). What's the big secret? When you accept a position with Nuance are you not allowed to say how it's going? Give me a break. A couple people specifically asked for my email and phone number to "keep in touch" yet they ignore all communication. I find this very interesting and not coincidental.

No different security other than do not discuss - specific patients or specific issues

I tell my friends how it is going at Nuance (TERRIBLE) all the time. I do not discuss particular patients or medical issues they may have.

That's part of how MTSOs get away with MT - abuse: Sever peer communications. :(

I can think of a few of the CEO's things I'd like to sever......

No one has ever told me not to communicate - with peers, family or friends

Despise all things Nuance BUT that is going off the deep end to paranoia to think they are not allowing employees to communicate with friends. Of course you need to do it on personal email but no one has ever suggested to cut ties with friends, family, coworkers, other MTs working for other companies.
I've never been told "don't communicate", - sm - SayItGirl

except for once a long time ago at an in house job at a very small hospital, where we had a psycho boss.

However, the MTSOs made it impossible to communicate with fellow workers, and would not give out home emails or phone numbers, or in some cases even the names of other MTs.

At my more recent MTSO, I already knew a few people from having worked inhouse with them at a hospital, and we were able to add a few names to the group that way. We never communicated on company IM - only by personal email.

Being kept separate and isolated like that is how they have (so far) prevented any kind of mass actions by their employees, because it was next to impossible for them to organize.

That may be part of the reason for changing the email program. - sm

It prohibits us from even sending a copy to ourselves at our private email. This company is very disreputable.

Copy and paste - simple as that

and/or screen shots with your own camera. - I cant emphasize that enough. SM

Do whatever you can to protect yourself.

I did screen shots of something and it came in very handy to prove my case when it came to getting unemployment benefits. Explained my side of the story and I was able to back it up.

I'm still doing it now, here, whenever I see anything questionable or that I think I might need it to defend myself or explain something, copy or take a picture of the screen, put it in a folder somewhere on my computer.

Copy and paste information into your own personal email program and send to yourself.
I once worked at Acusis, and they constantly - had their Indian techs going - msg

through our computers remotely. When they were "upgrading" (or whatever it was they did), they could see everything. So I went one better: Instead of storing my copied emails, IM's, warnings, policy changes, etc. on my hard drive, I put them on a flash drive and stored that in my desk drawer, away from prying Bangalore eyes.
Even better idea, thank you!! Everything copied to - personal and PRIVATE flash drive. nm

I heard or read somewhere the everyone was getting a half cent pay cut, whether part-time or full-time.  I was cut a full cent - so I'm guessing I must have heard/read this wrong.  ...

Why All The Secrecy Surrounding The New Exciting
Nov 04, 2014

Why is the most important factor in this (compensation rates) such a big secret? Why the silence. Why are TSMs not allowed to discuss or explain? How can you view this as exciting? It may be exciting for those at the top as they anticipate plan for increased bonuses and more exotic vacations. I can assure you, it's not viewed as exciting to those of use actually doing the work so that you may continue to live the lives you've become accustomed to. It's just so disheartening ...
