Transcender - sick of running out of work - dismayed

Is everyone at Transcend experiencing low-to-no work lately. This is not the holiday slow down that happens during this time. This has been happening ever since Nuance took us over. I am really afraid as we move into the new year we will see more and more of this. I am about ready to jump ship after many, many years of being with Transcend. I have been in this business for over 35 years and I know the usual "feast/famine" cycles. This is definitely not that, more a sense that the work is just gone. I am really wondering if this is because of sending off shore, or over hiring. There is no way I can work 16 hours to get 8 hour paycheck and with the impending webclock situation it is only going to be harder and harder to make what I need.
My accounts at Transcend have ALWAYS been busy, but now since the Nuance acquisition these accounts are ALWAYS running out of work and now, we almost NEVER hear from anyone in management. It is as if everyone has "gone away". or have their head in the sand.
I am going to wait a little longer, but if things don't get better I am definitely putting in my notice, especially knowing that there is going to be a pay cut (if this acquisition follows all of the others with Nuance).

[ In Reply To ..]This is not a simple feast or famine situation either. Around the time work dried up they also stopped sending the daily account stats. I've already started looking elsewhere. The increase in benefit premiums was a joke. Why even bother offering them. Just more insult added.

[ In Reply To ..]In addition to the fact that they send as much work as they can overseas they try to keep such a tight TAT it is ridiculous. By keeping us hungry for work we are there and ready when it comes in and jump on it and/or squabble for it like a bunch of hungry wild animals.
I assume you are right about wage cuts. They informed us everyone was being brought into the same pay range when they jacked us last year. There is a set pay schedule (depending on platform you use).
The time clock is going to be detrimental to you. I used to work for Transcend and it was not uncommon for me to work more than the 8 hours I put on my time card in order to make the money I needed to make.
Bottom line is, I have jumped from company to company and been bought up twice by Nuance and once by what used to be Medquist. I give up... Work for one of the 2 slavemasters or get into another field of work. Unfortunately I am almost retirement age and getting a job outside this area is proving difficult.

I hate this company and have been trying to get out of MT for over a year.
I would like to tell you things will be different, but get ready for a probable pay cut, among many other things that you aren't going to like.

I am wondering about the webclock I heard Nuance uses. Are they crazy strict about sticking to your shift and clocking out for everything? I like the flexibility Transcend offers with regard to family stuff. If I have to go pick up my kid or go to the school or doctor, they are cool with it and let me flex. I will never understand why companies over hire, we were ontop of TAT. In 2 weeks we have gone from 100s of files to 20 and fighting each other for them. 1200 lines to 400 a day ? Amazing the amount of job hopping necessary to support our families as most of type long hours, low pay to support our families. I have an opportunity to get a brand new MAC as a gift. My boyfriend has an extra one. I work on the BeyondText platform and remember seeing someone on here had a MAC but had a way to split it so her Windows programs ran on the MAC somehow. Tech support at Transcend says it won't work on a MAC. Or maybe I was wondering if an external driver could be used that was Windows and would run on the MAC. Probably a pipe dream, but a MAC!
