and I don't know why. I have always been able to see an ad, respond to it, and have the job and the schedule I wanted now I'm not even getting responses to resumes and I'm wondering if it's because I'm so close to retirement. I haven't worked that many places that it looks like I'm job jumping so I can't think of anything else and I'm getting a little nervous. I need a second job really bad!

Don't get discouraged. I think the market is saturated right now with MLS looking for work. So many people left Nuance in particular all at one time that it made it hard. I left in June, and when I was interviewing, 3 different companies told me they had been interviewing Transcend MLS who had been acquired by Nuance and ended up leaving. The company I work for now has hired 3 more former Transcenders in the last month. It's nice to be working with my prior teammates that I liked so much, but at a much better place! Don't lose hope. And if you haven't yet, try TransformMT. They are supposed to be hiring in the next few weeks...

Maybe it's the glut on the market from all the other Nuance MLS who are leaving or have been asked to leave. May not have anything to do with you. Good luck to you. I'm still looking too.

I just turned in my resignation letter and it feels like an exorcism has been performed! Getting rid of the devil and Nuance is evil incarnate. I am taking a position that pays the same as Nuance without their incentive bonus that I have ulcers over every month to see if I can make it. My TSM is rude and our new COM is nasty and rude and ignorant. I am just so happy to be getting away from this. And big surprise NUANCE...I am not the only one leaving. There's another company that got one of your big accounts and several of us are taking a pay cut to work this account and get the heck away from all this negativity and bad juju...

Unless it is gross misconduct, stealing, not working your scheduled hours, drunk on the job - your state can tell you if you qualify. Until you find a job, it is there to help you out. Them being such a benevolent company, surely they would not fight it, and if they did, the state is not working for them.

I am in the exact same boat. I have had 2 jobs for the past almost 30 years & I will be 59 next month. I can't get a response to any resumes or applications to other transcription companies! I think it is age or they don't want anyone who used to work for Nuance? I don't know but today I want TO QUIT. HATE NUANCE.

I just had interview with Softscript and found out that they do not hire any part-time MT's. Here they let me do testing and go to all that trouble and never even looked at my application, where I distinctly siad I wanted only part-time. Just shows how much they look at your application. So I am wondering now if Nuance hires that way. If not then this is probably a waste of time too. Very frustrating that these companies do not let you know up front. ...

I have been out of transcription for roughly 2-1/2 years but need to get back to work. I am going back to school to get some add'l training this fall but in the meantime need a job. Is there anything positive about working for Nuance? What's it like working on the eScription and Dictaphone ExText platforms? What are your average line counts on those platforms? I can average 400+ lph working on a clinic account, but I get to use lots of word expanders and templates, it's all straight typing as well. I read somewhere they just made cuts in pay, was that across the board and how much of a cut was it? I read that they start out at 4 ...

Whoever is even thinking of trying to work for Nuance Transcription, should think again! They are always running out of work and pay sucks big time! They have a new pay system where you are docked for almost everything! You have to meet 99% quality, which is no problem, as you should be meeting that anyway, but then they check your reports, always short ones and if they find an error, especially a major one, that docks your score way down, which in turn docks you pay, plus they then take y ...

I truly just hate ever day that I have to work for them. The days are sooooo long and seem never-ending. Fifteen years of 99%+ accuracy and now I need a mentor? Really? WTH? 25 years ago, I had an hourly wage of $11.50 (before I got into transcription), while the minimum wage was $3.35. So I was making 3x minimum wage. Fast forward to Nuance today, my salary is $7.25, minimum wage. (BTW, this is my very first minimum wage job of my entire lifetime, back to when I worked as a teenager in the 1970s).
